Great bed for the spareLisaGreat bed for the spare room.5
BrimnesRosettaWell built , comfortable, great for your money, love it.5
Very useful in a cramped spaceColinLooks well and is great as a flexible bed for visitors. Assembly a problem as some screw holes were not properly drilled. Slightly uneven slats at one side are odd3
Totally satisfied with the frame.CandiceTotally satisfied with the frame.5
Turned my family room into guest roomShahejadThe product itself is good, but the assembly instruction needs to be improved if the panels were numbered and instructions also explained it with what panel number to use, it would have been quick to assemble and easier.5
Great productANNAGreat product5
goes with everythingSHANNONI love this bed frame as it goes with everything. It is easy to change styles without having to change the furniture. Lots of storage space in the drawers under the frame.5
Love this bedRosy789Bought this bed for 10 year old daughter. It is perfect for her. Large Storage area in drawers. Love that it pulls out into full size bed for sleepovers or guests - seems like a Queen size. I’m 5’7 and had lots of room when in single size. This bed should be fine for her till she moves out! Fairly simple to put together. Took 2 adults 2.5 hours. Well made as always. Thanks IKEA!5
Great additionDar HeWorks exactly for what I need it for. First 2 steps easy to put together, the drawers were a little more tricky.4
Poor build qualityNardhi17We bought this bed for our guest room a couple years ago. Initially we loved it, however after a few uses of pulling out the trundle to make it into a double bed, it broke. Now it can only be used as a twin bed which defeats the purpose of why we purchased it. It is very poorly made and was very difficult to assemble. We have purchased a lot from Ikea and are usually very happy with our purchases, this one unfortunately, are very very disappointed and feel we wasted money on this product.1
The worst bed that can ever existRk123I bought this bed, it was extremely difficult to assemble it. I tried but wasted hours so finally called Task Rabbit for assembling. The slats are weak and broken within few days of use. Because of its design when I keep it as a twin bed the mattress keep sliding towards the opened and I am 140 pounds only. So, it is impossible to sleep on it without a soar back. It is a health hazard. And when I keep it as a king bed, I can feel the slats. Also, the corners are extremely sharp and keep hurting my legs. I so wanted to return it but that means dismantling it and taking it to the store which is impossible for me. It is basically a use and throw kind of bed . I paid ~ $80 for assembly + ~$99 for delivery . So I paid almost ~$150 More on it. Please stop manufacturing it. It is a very comfortable bed and can lead to back issues1
Great bedMarevbI bought this bed for my granddaughter and it was easy to assembly and looks great! Very happy with purchase5
eau1I like this bed, the only issue was that the one drawer did not go in & out smoothly. After a couple of hours we figured out that the middle bar was slightly off centre. Thank fully my husband was able to go to a hardware store to get a fix, otherwise we would have had to take the whole bed apart to return it.4
Disappointing PurchaseRSINGH5Bought this daybed about 2.5 years back and the bed collapsed on me a few days ago! The screws had come off ripping some of the wood on the extendable side while the metal railing on the side holding the slats and screws was distorted and malformed. Extremely disappointed with this purchase.1
Terrible Quality and ExperienceRSINGH5Bought this daybed about 2.5 years back and the bed collapsed on me a few days ago! The screws had come off ripping some of the wood on the extendable side while the metal railing on the side holding the slats and screws was distorted and malformed. Extremely disappointed with this purchase as IKEA is known for the durability and quality of its products.1
Perfect set up for sleep oversHappy Dad 01Bought this for 2 of my 3 girls. No one has to sleep on the floor now when they have a friend sleep over. Very sturdy, easy to assemble and moves seamlessly. One point to know is the floor must be even and unobstructed to roll the extended bed in and out5
Brimnes Daybed - worst quality everAnna114I bought this item around 2 years ago. Few months ago I have noticed some wood chips and screws coming out and 2 weeks ago the bed just fell down under me (I am a relatively small woman). Luckily I did not get hurt. The technician came out and reported that it is a manufacturing issue, however, Ikea refused to give me any exchange or refund. This was my first and last (!) shopping at IKEA. Extremely terrible quality.1
Assembly nightmarediane24Looks great and will definitely work as an extra bed for overnight guests but the assembly was an absoulute nightmare. It took my husband and myself a good part of the evening to complete. Clearer diagrams and markings on the pieces would have been helpful.3
Great bed with extrasKs1111Like that it's able to be a extra bed and storage as well. Perfect for growing pre teen.4

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in a responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill waste – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a valuable resource instead of being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look. The day your sofa or bed needs replacing, the material in the particleboard can be recycled into something entirely new.

Function solution

Sofa and bed in one

Living in a small space or need an extra bed sometimes? Then a daybed is a smart solution since you get two types of furniture in one - a sofa by day and bed by night. And since some of our daybeds also have drawers, you get a practical place to store anything from bed linens to clothes and toys.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"Living in a small space often presents big demands for smart storage. That’s what we wanted to solve by creating BRIMNES – a series of functional bedroom furniture with storage in every piece and at a low price. We made the bed frame with generous drawers and the headboard with room for books, magazine files and holes for cables. The wardrobe was given adjustable shelves so that you can maximize your storage. We hope you will enjoy living with this furniture in your home for a long time – regardless of whether you combine them or use them as individual pieces."
