Good to know
The daybed must be combined with two twin mattresses. They are placed on top of each other when you use the daybed as a single bed, and next to each other when you use it as a double bed.

Slatted bed base is included.
The day-bed is not to be used as two single beds, it should only be used as a double bed when the bed base is pulled out.

Care
Wipe clean using a damp cloth and a mild cleaner.

Difficult assemblyTaraDoesn’t fit standard mattress, need to buy a new mattress. The drawers don’t open smoothly, probably due to the assembly.
Daybed disappointment EdReally hard to assemble. Enclosed instructions were not very helpful. Had to consult two YouTube videos and even then it was a struggle.
Very poor screw qualityKendrewI don’t understand why IKEA needs to make the screws on the middle track supporting drawers particularly long with a plastic cap extending out from the middle beam. The screw can barely take the increased torque due to the length of the screw. The screw is now stuck and cannot be tightened or cannot be removed. This product sucks
Sharp corners JodieYou’ll want to replace the pull handles on the drawers as they’re leg scrapers. We have this bed for our toddler and we immediately swapped out the pulls after an incident. As with most ikea furniture, the corners are so sharp. Just be careful

Needs structural improvements Anonymous reviewerWe purchased our Brimnes daybed just over 3 months ago and all was great. Installation was good and we used it as a twin multiple times with no issues. We had a friend stay overnight and use it as a full bed (extended out), and the daybed fully collapsed under him while sleeping. Everything was installed properly with latches in place to prevent the two sides from separating, but due to what I’m assuming was an uneven weight distribution, the center of the bed collapsed which caused the two sides to pull apart. This product could benefit from structural reinforcements where the two sides connect/overlap. If you’re looking to buy a daybed, we would highly recommend going with the Hemnes model which has a slightly more solid design. Now I wish we had but we liked the look of the Brimnes more... There is also NO warranty on this bed, so if you’re over the 90 days and something happens, you might be offered a $50 gift card, as we were. Very disappointed.

missing partsAmirI bought day-time bed and there are no connection no bults and nuts, no tools, no fasteners and no connection. My house is far and it is really difficult to return back to store because of your mistake. What should I do?

Don’t BuyThereseI just bought this bed and had taken all the pieces out to build. I completed half the bed already to my surprise the one piece of wood that holds the other side for the slates had a crack in it. I messaged Ikea on facebook and gave them everything they asked (order number, part that needs to be replaced) they told me because it is not a piece that can be replaced…I needed to bring the ENTIRE bed back to exchange it with my receipt!!! So told them I already built half the bed and threw out the boxes and they said nothing they can do! Save your money and don’t even bother with this headache! They are a big corporate joke that does not want to help their customers at all!

Not the best product.”ChristopherVery hard to put together. The slats don’t line up. The screws were terrible to put in. Very poorly designed. It was the hardest piece of furniture from IKEA that I have put together. And I have a lot of IKEA furniture.

Great to except…MegumiBought this for my spare bedroom. Have opened it out twice for guests. I love the style, size and comfort of the bed. However upon opening it the second time I discovered that 1 wooden bed slat was broken. At this point I don’t know how, why or when it snapped but disappointed to see that. In time I will have to see if the slats hold up. I am hoping it was just a one off, defective piece of wood.

Slats brokeIfuThere was a slate had black spot at the edge of middle. It was broken from there.
Value for moneyAnthonyThe bed quality is great. My in-laws have been using it and find it comfortable. The mattress is comfortable as well.
The assembly isn't the easiest though and can get pretty annoying and challenging. We had to disassemble and assemble again as the drawers weren't sliding in.
