Had It put together in 90 minutes and I'm no expertKathleenFollow the instructions and you're good to go! I bought 2 for my sewing room and now everything is organised and labelled. Hardest part was getting it off th shelf, into the cart and then into the car. The boxes are 75 lbs each!! No one to help me at either junction. Ikea gets a fail on that point. I don't have time to go looking around for people to help. Prob would have bought 4 but I was exhausted after that. Don't expect any help on their end or pack it into 2 liftable boxes per unit.

Agree with other negative reviewsMarie-PierI am having issue with the screws provided to fasten the railing to the drawers. The screws either don’t hold in place such that the railing is loose, or they won’t go all the way in and then prevent the drawer from closing smoothly. Very frustrating, IKEA used to be way better than this.

New version is very poor quality. Please avoid!StephanieI've bought Ikea items for decades now and have never had a problem building or using their items. There's another negative review for this item and I experienced the same problems! When trying to put the rails/drawers in, the screws were not strong enough, resulting in a drawer falling out and crashing to my floor, damaging it and the unit. Considering another person had this issue, it feels like we received defective products. The quality of the finish is horrible as well, very cheap and nothing like items I've purchased in the past. I feel like I've wasted my money since they don't take back defective products. If this is how Ikea products are now I will no longer be purchasing furniture from them :(
Great quality and very easy to assembleAndreaI loved the ease of assembly. I purchased 2 for my room and although I am an older lady and I still managed to put them together. The quality of these items were consistent in both and I was quite surprised by the workmanship on them.
Tedious but worth itGauthierI bought one for craft supplies and it was tedious to put together because of all the pieces for all the drawers. Easy once you get started unless you struggle with ikea basics! Bought another one for my office because it is so useful!
sides blew out, won't closeJuliabought this Alex drawer about a month ago and it really hasn't impressed me, everything that can break has broken and the rails won't stay on, the screws provided don't hold and the material of the drawers are low quality, if you purchase this drawer be prepared for blowouts and disappointment

I think the various screws, dowels, and pre-drilled holes used to assemble the unit is very interesting. I just wish the price was a little cheaper given it's made of particle board. Other than that it's very useful.

What is particleboard?
