The safety feature means that the chest of drawers must be anchored to the wall in order to open more than one drawer at a time, which creates a safer environment at home.

Poor quality, frustrating assemblyMikeI've purchased and assemble a lot of Ikea furniture in the past but never reviewed any of it. I felt compelled after assembling this piece of junk. The thing is assembled with 2 missing pieces that broke during install and 2 of the drawers wont go in because I put the supports in upside down. Note that there are color coded plastic bits that look the same in the instructions but are 1mm different in size - that mm will mess you up!
Tall skinny 5-drawerScottDo NOT mess up Step 7. That’s all I’m gonna say. Those two smaller brown middle pieces. Triple check their orientation before proceeding. Don’t be like me - they were upside down. Had to rip the WHOLE thing apart which is very difficult with IKEA furniture as none of the steps are meant to be “undone.” Once I fixed that glitch, it’s a nice piece of furniture. Sturdy and well-made (sort of!). Step 7 people… don’t mess that part up.

Came in two packages, for ease of handling. Instructions were easy to follow. Assembled by one person. Materials were solid. Everything fits well. Moved the unit to location before putting the drawers in. This is one of the better purchases among a few other items that we bought from IKEA recently for furnishing the condo.

Great functional pieceKellyMy mom purchased this item when downsizing. She needed some smaller pieces that have good storage capacity. This is perfect. Slim and tall so doesn’t take up a lot of space. I put it together and it does take time and patience. Very doable if you are one to follow instructions. If not I would recommend their service to assemble it as the drawers require a lot of time. They close nicely. She is very happy with it.
Assembly instructionsCynthiaI put this whole thing together. When putting the drawers in two of them won’t sit properly and are 2mm off the shelf stabilizers. Trying to navigate the website for extra help is aweful.

The five drawer chestJohnHave a room full of Malm and was worried that no more Malm would be an issue but then Ikea has started labelling as Storklint a/Malm. Does it fit? Actually pretty well. I'm very happy with my new dresser.
