Your bed linen can be a statement about who you are and what you like. Colours, patterns, design and even the fabric tell a tale of your taste. But except for the esthetical part, bed linen and bedspreads are really all about comfort. How do they feel against your skin? Do they help you maintain an even body temperature at night?
Bed linen in the right material
You spend roughly one-third of your life sleeping. Which also means you spend roughly one-third of your life wrapped up in bed linen. That’s why we make sure all our bed linen is made from quality materials that will feel soft against your skin and help you maintain an even body temperature at night.
All materials we use for our bedding sets breathe well, allow good ventilation and absorb moisture – all to keep you comfortable through the night.
Thread count
To help you choose the best bed linen, we’ve shared the thread count on each bedding set. The thread count tells you the number of threads per square inch of fabric. The higher the thread count, the more densely woven the fabric. This results in a softer feeling. Some people are very sensitive to thread counts and will need a higher thread count for optimal comfort.
Sustainable and environmentally friendly materials
Not only is all our bed linen soft and well-ventilated, some are also extra friendly towards the environment. We have a wide selection of bed linens made of materials from sustainable sources. That means you can make a conscious choice about what kind of impact you want to have on the planet. And again, you can use your bed linen to make a statement about who you are and what you value. The conscious choice will hopefully help you sleep even better, both physically and mentally.
Don’t forget the sheets
We also have a wide selection of bed sheets in different colours and materials to go with your duvet covers and pillowcases. Some of our sheets are fitted with an elastic edging that goes around the edges of your mattress. This helps keep your sheet in place even if you tend to toss and turn at night. It also helps keep the sheet less wrinkled since it’s held stretched by its elastic edges.
How to make your bed in five simple steps
A bed is more than a mattress, sheets and accessories—it’s a destination in your home. Ensuring that your bed is as customized to your style and comfort needs as possible is much like following a recipe. Let’s dive into all the ingredients and steps you’ll need to create the perfect recipe for restful nights…
Step 1: Add a mattress cover and pillow protectors
Quality mattresses and pillows are a worthwhile bedding investment, but like most investments, they need to be protected. To help keep your bed fresh and clean for as long as possible, always be sure to have a mattress protector and pillow protectors in place. These will help protect against sweat, accidents and spills, and can be easily washed with the rest of your bedding.
Step 2: Choose your slumber-worthy sheets
Our affordable, easy-care sheet bedding sets come complete with a fitted sheet, a top sheet and pillow cases, with individual options available as well if you prefer to mix-and-match. Find the perfect fit for your bed with twin, full/double, queen, king and twin extra long sheets in a wide selection of colors and patterns.
Step 3: Stir up some warmth with a comforter, duvet or blanket
We offer an extensive selection of bedding for all styles and seasons, from thin fleece blankets to lofty silk comforters and bedding sets. Consider the season and your personal warmth preferences when choosing the best duvet for you. Find yourself wanting more warmth some nights than others, making it difficult to find your Goldilocks-like ‘just right?’ Rather than opting for a lightweight duvet, layering thinner blankets might work best so you can add or remove depending on the day.
Step 4: Toss in a throw blanket or two
Whether the night is too warm for your duvet, or you want an added layer on an especially frigid night, throw blankets make it easy to find the right comfort level. They can also help save you and your partner from an unnecessary squabble if you share your bed with a champion covers-stealer! Rather than try in vain to reclaim your rightful half of the comforter, grab a nearby throw blanket and get back to snoozing.
Step 5: Add a generous dash of throw pillows
Just like we measure garlic with our heart when cooking, we’re firm believers that there’s no such thing as too many decorative pillows. We love switching out our throw pillows regularly to keep up with the hues of the season and keep our bedding sets feeling fresh. Consider mixing things up with decorative pillows in various shapes, sizes, fabrics and colours to add texture and dimension to your bed.
Now all that’s left to do is lay back and reward your hard work with a nap. For bedding testing purposes, of course.
