fine if your not getting it for the lightingPrzemyslawthe cabinet works great until your light goes out. what kind of a company especially one as large as ikea does not offer replacement lights. its a literal money grab. i have read their resposes if you return it within 180 days you will get your money back with reciept. are you guys stupid or what? did anyone of us say anything about returning the product we just want to replace the dam lights. if my head light goes out in my car after i drive it past the 6 month mark am i supposed to buy a new vehicle? what the hell is the point of us writing reviews and you looking at them if you cant solve the problem when the solution is so dam simple a nutless monkey could do it. reqd what the people are saying for gods sake2

LED wires will fray and breakNielsThe wire design is poor and after several years the wires for one of the LED strips have broken down from opening and closing. I am attempting to solder in a new wire to repair. Ikea should make the separate lighting modules available for purchase. Otherwise, I have to buy a new mirror to replace2
When the lights go out you are SOLJoniI have gotten this cabinet twice now and both times I’ve experienced fraying of wires (as many others have previously reported). It looks great and functions well…until it doesn’t then as other folks mentioned, you’re out of luck. No replacement lights available and you’re stuck having to get a whole new cabinet and dealing with burden of reinstalling something new. I also fear this could be a fire hazard because of the wires fraying.5
No replacement light or partsBenjaminI purchased this beautiful STORJOM wall cabinet about two years ago. The light goes out when you open the right cabinet door. I just noticed that the cable got frayed from regular opening and closing the cabinet. No replacement light set or parts available. Ikea product approval team should have demanded from the designer to have parts available during initial product review and approval. Imagine purchasing a Tesla with no service parts or repair available. The question is, how will IKEA help those of us stuck with this issue? Meanwhile, if you are reading this, please hold off purchasing this product.3
Wire got frayed. No replacement wire available.KevinBought this just under 7 yrs ago. I frequently used the light to put in my contact lenses. Low and behold the electrical wire for right door got frayed from opening and closing. I scoured the internet and no replacement wires are available. I electrical taped where frayed so at least lights turn on when shut cabinet for now. When open right side both lights go out. Can't believe cannot purchase replacement parts for the lighting unit.2
Wires will frayLeviBeautiful design but the wires will fray from opening and closing the mirrors, and Ikea not only doesn't warranty the mirrors but also does not offer any replacement parts - you are just stuck purshasing it again.1
when the light burns out, that's itAnonymousWe didn't realize that when the light burns out, there is no way to replace it. It was inexpensive to purchase (not to install - needed an electrician) and it looks nice, but I just can't really imagine a company making a lighted cabinet that would only last until the light fixture stopped working.1
Very nice lighting featureAnonymousI installed a fee weeks ago and it works great and looks very nice with the lighting on inside and out. Very satisfied. George5
Great space, nicely madeAnonymousI had a contractor install so can't speak to that, but i love this cabinet. Lots of room, soft close doors, good lighting. I feel it is great value -- let's hope it lasts a long time.5
OK, so the cabinet is great, however ....read onAnonymousSo I purchased this cabinet a couple of years ago. I love it cause of it's height, since I have a small bathroom, this is perfect. About 1 year after purchase, one of lights burned out, it seemed the wiring got cut. I got an electrician and he advised he cannot fixed the wiring, since the electrical board is soldered. He tried to to get one light to work, but it seemed too much power, since the light would just flash. So I sent IKEA a couple of messages about resolution, time went on (I literally used a flash light during the winter) Finally I was able to go to the IKEA store and talked to a rep, I explained my situation, he talked to manager, and I was advised there is nothing that can be done. So I ended up buying another cabinet. Now I have a cabinet I don't need, just to salvage the lights. Maybe want to rethink how to do the electrical in the future. I will probably double wrap the wiring.3
Can be installed Recessed!AnonymousBeautiful Medicine cabinet. We installed ours recessed by framing it, drilling 4 screw holes through side panels, and adding trim around it. It was not difficult to assemble, and end result is very nice for half the price of other back lit medicine cabinets.5
Great Bathroom CabinetAnonymousI really love this cabinet. The light is a nice warm light. Bright enough so that I can see everything but soft enough that it doesn't hurt my eyes. There is ample room to store all of my bathroom essentials and I love that the doors have that soft close. My husband did say it was a pain to install (it took 2 people because it is heavy) but it was worth it.5
BEST MED CABINET WITH BUILT-IN LIGHTS ON THE MKT.AlBOUGHT 4 (TWO DOUBLES IN MASTER BATH AND POWDER ROOM) GREAT LOOKING; LOTS OF STORAGE SPACE; SELF CLOSING DOORS. THEY MAKE THE BATHROOMS LOOK FANTASTIC. EASY TO ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL.5
What a deal!Anonymous reviewerOur house was built in 1964. The bathroom had one 24 x 24 cabinet for medicines, makeup, toothbrushes, etc. There was a 48 x 36 mirror over a single sink. Years ago we installed track lights over the mirror to get more light. We found these cabinets when we were browsing at IKEA. They inspired us to upgrade our bathroom. After careful measuring, using the wonderfully detailed information in the IKEA sales brochure, we decided to remove the existing mirror and cabinet. I was very impressed at the ingenuity of the design. The parts were so compactly packed, but very easy to assemble. All parts fit together perfectly. No hammering or forcing of any kind was needed to put them together. The fasteners made very sturdy connections. I was particularly impressed with the wall fasteners. They had a large range of adjustment and still were very strong. Many thanks to the design team! And many thanks to writers of the instructions. The graphics answered all the assembly questions with one glance. Two of these cabinets fit perfectly into the space that had the 36 x 48 mirror. The LED light strips greatly increase the light in the bathroom. The mirrors look so much better than the old flat mirror. And we love all the additional storage space. Having the space right behind the mirrors makes accessing our toothbrushes and makeup so much easier. The shelves have room for all items so we don't have items on the counter around the sink.:}5
