Product details

Brass-colored details on the headboard, footboard and legs give a unique twist to this classic design.

The powder-coated steel frame is strong, sturdy and easy to maintain.

You can sit up comfortably in bed thanks to the high headboard – just prop some pillows behind your back and you will have a comfortable place to read or watch TV.

There’s plenty of space under the bed for storage boxes – great for stowing extra quilts and sheets.

You can choose the mattress comfort that’s best for you – the high headboard and footboard work well with mattresses of different thicknesses.

The high footboard keeps bed textiles from falling onto the floor while you sleep.

Whether you prefer bold or romantic, this versatile bed frame will look great with your choice of textiles and bedroom furniture.

17 layer-glued slats adjust to your body weight and increase the suppleness of the mattress.

Sooooo cute!JESSICAI bought this bed for my 16 year old. It was soooo easy to put together, easy to move around, lots of space underneath for storage containers and the gold details are beautiful! We love Ikea so much, the value is perfect!5
Great bed!JessicaSimple yet beautiful! Very sturdy! I love it!5
Very sturdy, easy assemblyJulieWe needed a queen bed for a small bedroom. The Sagstua was perfect room underneath for storage with a small footprint. Love the IKEA slant system no foundation needed, just the mattress.5
BeautifulPatricia M.Got this in a queen size for our guest bedroom. We have not had anyone use it yet so I can’t speak to the squeakiness of it. But I love it! I got a 4inch wood box spring off Amazon and a 12inch mattress (that inflated to 11inches). The height of everything worked out perfectly. The mattress comes under the foot board and headboard’s horizontal bar maybe 2inches or so. I didn’t want the mattress being higher than the footboard, but I didn’t want it too low either because we have taller nightstands. The 4inch box spring is perfect, I did not want the box spring showing. The measurements was about 4.5inches so I’m glad I went with 4 instead of 5inch box spring. It was easy to put together with 2 people and the quality of the metal is very nice and came intact. Great buy for the price. Wish I could post a picture!!!4

Great bed frame at a good priceSteveEasy to assemble but the one issue I had was that the slats and slat support beam are sold seperately.5
Love the Sagstua BedsJames T.I own 11 vacation condos containing a total of 34 beds. I wanted to move to a platform bed design to avoid having to purchase both a mattress and box spring for every bed. Also, the box spring was visually exposed without a bed skirt. I first tried the Leirvik design from IKEA. They looked great but had a design flaw. The headboard and footboard were a two piece design stablized with two small screws. There was no way to get the bed stable and not to squeak. I then came across the Sagstua design. While the physical appearance of the Leirvik was more attractive, the Sagstua did not have the design flaw. The footboard and the base of the headboard are a single piece and extremely sturdy. The sole problem I have ever experience is that I had some teenagers piling on the bed and bent a support beam but these and the slats can be kept as extra replacement parts. I give the Sagstua a solid 5.5
Super cute bed!StephanieI purchased this bed for my daughter and I love it! It was very easy to assemble and it is very sturdy. It has a sleek, cute look.5

Squeekless Queen Sagstua - Here's HowEdward S.Assembly can be easy. No need for instructions if you watch on YouTube. Does not squeek at all. In fact, I'm very impressed on how sturdy the frame is - and it is Squeekless. Make sure the rails are fully over the screws and the rails are pushed fully down (attached to the head and foot boards - two screws in each corner). You must the tighten the screws snugly with the allen tool. This can be tedious (not much room in the slot opening) but must be done to have a squeek free frame. There you have it. Varsågod (You're Welcome)... EdS5
New BedLORIInstructions were terrible but once I got it together it is absolutely beautiful!4

Squeaks GaloreSavannah L.Beautiful bed, looks even better in person too! It’s a timeless look. After tightening all the screws (though avoiding stripping), the bed squeaks at the tiniest TINIEST movement. I once had hiccups and I couldn’t get any sleep because the bed would vigorously squeak. Additionally support beams sit on the head/foot board and are not secured - so when I slid a box under, it rose the beam and the head/foot board collapsed onto me grateful that my cat wasn’t underneath. Because the bed was so pretty and assumed mine was defective, I recommended it to my sister who is also small build. Since she got it, her bedframe has also been non-stop squeaking. When reading reviews how the bed is sturdy and quiet, I’m genuinely curious how people were able to achieve this. Love the look otherwise.3
Beautiful additionJenniferThe Sagstua bed was easy to assemble and set up. It is sturdy and is focal point to the guest room.5

Material

What is steel?

Steel has unique characteristics when it is stretched and shaped since it remains strong. It provides strength to everything from skyscrapers and cars to bed frames and outdoor furniture. The steel industry is moving in the direction of more energy-efficient production and stronger steel qualities. It doesn’t lose any of its properties when recycled and today steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"When I designed SAGSTUA bed frame, I was inspired by the ornamental wire work on traditional entrance gates. I wanted to create a classical design with references to the past that works in a modern home; something that flirts with the romantic, but can appeal to many. The thick tubing forms a traditional and sturdy silhouette, balanced with brass colored details as the finishing touch. Dressed with your favorite linens, I hope this bed becomes your own personal haven."
