The MALM bed frame is not compatible with adjustable bed bases; it is designed for use with a non-adjustable mattress base or slatted bed base (like LUROY or LONSET). However, a box spring can be used in place of slats, but a mid-beam (center support beam) is still required for stability.
MALM underbed storage drawers are compatible with all MALM bed frames and can be purchased separately. The bed frame is designed to allow the addition of 2 or 4 storage boxes for extra space. These drawers will fit under the bed, including the 'high bed' version, and can be placed on either side.
