Excellent quality and price RominaExperience the perfect blend of stunning design and exceptional comfort. Assembly is a breeze!
Great sofa w storage and a BED! WINShelleyI'm gonna start by saying this was never meant to be slept in without a topper. Of course it's not as comfortable. It's shown in store as a bed WITH A MATTRESS on it!! We use a 3 inch and it's totally fine. The sofa needs to be firm to start or it'll just break down faster. We've have two versions of it, and we kind of abuse one of them on the patio and it's 💯 still functional and comfortable. The gray one with chase is still somewhat firm. Fabric indents a little over time but it literally smooths out with the brush of your hand. Structurally both are solid, fun ruining sofas as are all the rest of the Ikea pieces I've purchased like Billy Bookcases, loft beds and kallax. I think people are not attaching things correctly. My daughter has this same sofa w 3 kids and zero issues after a few years.
Comfortable & StylishRebeccaThis is my first major purchase with Ikea and their reputation is well-deserved: easy to assemble, well-made, cool Scandinavian aesthetic, comfortable for 3-4 people to sit on and easy to convert into a full-size bed. I bought it for my son's bedroom to allow him to have more flexibility in a small room: He can retreat into his bedroom with friends and hang out without awkwardly sitting on his bed. Great price, great design, built to last.
Disappointed!!KarinaI had an old one for years and it was great. Had to move so decided to buy a new one and somehow this sofa has gotten more expensive while the quality has worsened. 9/10 times whenever I pull it up it latches off the sectional. Also the fabric is very stiff and the couches are very hard. Had to buy a foam topper so visitors can sleep kore comfortably. If I could return it, I would. Just disappointed.
MISSING PARTSEmmaI bought this couch a few years ago and it was missing the fabric for the lounge portion. IKEA in store would not give me the missing parts. In addition, the couch has NOT held up well. Falling apart. So on top of missing pieces at purchase and not lasting I would not recommend.
Leather sofaKevinMy friend has the fabric version and it’s comfortable. The leather version…not so comfortable. I highly recommend seeing the leather versions of sofas in store. The sofa cushions never stay up in place. Make sure to put the legs in the right place because it could damage the furniture. Pros: large sofa and functional. Cons: uncomfortable (good luck sleeping on this one), cushions move all over the place after a while it’s annoying. You could use a blanket to prevent slipping.
Owned for 8 yearsAnnaI bought the couch when the price was closer to $500-600. The seat cushions are starting to sag and some spots are uncomfortable with the metals bars underneath. The back pillows needs to be rotated to keep their shape but I think that's typical. The fabric is stain resistant, after living on the couch during COVID there are no noticeable stains. Definitely had chocolate, wine, and raspberry tea spill on it.
Love the fact that it's a sofa bed. Last year I bought an extra mattress cushion/protector to add some additional support for sleepers. It does make it more comfortable to sleep on but I didn't hear complaints before I added the extra cushioning.
After 8 years, I'm ready to upgrade the couch, however we are definitely keeping it around as a back up sleeper sofa when a bigger group of guests arrive.
Overall, loved the product and was super happy over the years.
Hard surface to sleep onLauraI had to get a mattress topper because the couch itself is too hard. Taking the bed out is tricky if you have a rug underneath (it gets jammed). Color is nice, look is nice. Wish it we’re more comfortable.
Sleeper SofaClaraI had this sofa in my home office for the past 11 years, it’s firm great for people that experience back pain. I just gave it away because the fabric is worn out in the Florida sun. Excellent bed for occasional guest, big storage, not wrong for the money paid years ago.
Amazing Sofa, 12 years and goingTatianaI have had this sofa for 12 years now and never had any issues. It’s incredibly versatile as it offers plenty of seating, lots of storage and excellent pull out bed. After 12 years it’s still going strong. There are absolutely zero issues. It’s literally like new but the material is becoming worn out and I’d like to reupholster the sofa, which is why I ended up on this page today.
I’m shocked by all the bad reviews! People who say the pullout doesn’t latch when the side seat leans out - why is it leaning out? You were supposed to attach it to the main seat during the assembly. All the necessary parts were included as well as instructions. And people complaining the sofa is too firm - it says it right on the product page that it’s “firm” which is exactly why I bought it because I prefer my sofas and mattresses firm with good support. If you prefer a softer feel, IKEA has plenty in that category as well.
I’ve been extremely happy with this sofa, nothing but love from me.
Do not buy this!ShashankThis product is definitely not worth the money. The pullout part of the couch keeps detaching from the main part of the couch because there is no way to secure the side part of the couch. When the side part of the couch leans away from the body, the pullout part fails to latch on to the bracket underneath the main body. It defeats the purpose of having a sleeper couch. Horrible design! If anyone bought this and is having trouble with it, refer to Yair’s review. The 480786 bracket from Home depot solves the problem. However you’ll still have to deal with the side part gradually leaning away from the main body. This product wouldn’t last more than 2 years. For the amount I paid, I expected a far better product.
IKEA is biggest scammer , quality of sofa - lowAnonymous reviewerSofa looks alright for couple years- than it will have a problem with sagging- and IKEA will ditch you for warranty responsibility. They are liars and will tell you any stupid nonsense reasons just to get rid of warranty coverage for their faulty furniture. So if you planning to buy reliable sofa - look somewhere else for quality and trustworthy company instead of IKEA.
Won’t stand two yearsQianI have had this piece for a year and three months. The lower half of the side piece (at the right end) kept leaning away from the body after a few days’ sitting because the two connecting bolts were moving out of the holes. You could hammer the piece to force the bolts go back but every a few days you need to repeat this practice. In the last half year it was deformed so bad that I couldn’t hammer the bolts into position. With a deformed side piece, you wouldn’t be able to stabilize the pull-out part because the hook is about an inch away from where it could hook. My sofa might be completely dead in a few months… Fabric is okay, cushions keep their shapes but really the design is disastrous.
solution for sofa issueYairfor everyone that has bought this item recently and can't return it anymore and has encounter the same problem, the sofa part that comes out and when you are laying down and it detaches out of nowhere from latches, being a handyman I got tired of this issue and in the local home depot go to the hardware section and look for part: 480786 ( Handrail Bracket any color you want . use original screws, you only need two. this is going to replace the latch that originally came with and this will solve the problem. this solution will cost you less than 15$ ... do better IKEA and make this latch longer so we customer don't have to go do a resource for a simple solution...
Not for daily useElaineI bought this couch 2 1/2 years ago and it broke after 6 months. The back rest was not sturdy at all. The pull out part wouldn’t catch the safety hooks and would roll out on its own. We can’t afford to buy another couch and I don’t know how to make a warranty claim, because the website doesn’t show you how. Now we’ve been stuck with a broken couch and it’s a huge disappointment since we spent almost $1000 and it claims to have a 10 year warranty so that’s why we bought it because I thought it would be guaranteed to last at least 5 yrs.
Cute CouchLisaThis couch is a great value for the price. We use it in our pool house, so it’s not used very often, maybe a dozen times over the summer… but that being said, it is a nice piece of furniture. We bought the mattress pad to lay on top which is able to be stored inside of a back cushion (separate purchase). Overall happy with the couch! Hard to beat the price.
Great KatFantastic
Love it, I bought two!EliseI bought this couch several years ago for the beach house. It was in the living room, office and now family room. I sit on it weekly and the dog has his spot. I bought a thick topper for extra sleeping comfort. I recently bought a new one for the living room. I love to pull out the bed and use it while I am watching a movie. It turns the whole couch into a chaise lounge. It love it because it’s modern clean lines and you can change sides of the chaise. It is more expensive than when I first bought it but I still love it. I have the dark grey and cover the area where the dog lays. It has held up well ( 5 years) and is still clean. My house is MCM and it fits in perfectly. Thank you IKEA.
Had this couch for the last 5 years and it's greatYleniaNot sure so why so many bad reviews. I have had this couch for now 5 years and it's great. Recently only the extension started to come off at times, but it never happened before. I wash the cushion covers all the time and I easily remove cat hair from it (I have two cats and two kids that mess it up). I would totally buy it again. For that price I could not find anything of better value. Storage and size are great!
Ikea quality isn’t worth it anymore, especially with recent price increasesAnonymous reviewerI bought this sectional a year and a half ago and was so excited. Started to feel the frame 3 months in, the pullout ALWAYS separates and detaches from the couch, the sectional attachment has a noticeable gap in it, the fabric pilling is insane, the pillows and upholstery are misshapen, and it is nearly impossible to get pet hair out of it. This is with 2 normal weight/sized adults who don’t have others over often and two cats who never scratch it and aren’t on it much.
If you look at other reviews, you’ll notice that most of the positives are from people who’ve had the sofa for at least 4-5 years, while recent reviews (past 2 yrs) are mostly negative. Like everything else at IKEA it seems, quality has deteriorated in recent years while prices increase. It’s pretty clear that consumers are not getting what they’re paying for, especially WRT this sectional.
Refunds or recalls need to be issued before I ever consider purchasing a couch or major furniture item here again.
