Roller shades & roller blinds

Roller blinds for windows can soften the light or block it completely

IKEA offers an extensive selection of window blinds to suit all interior design styles, budgets, window sizes and light filtering needs. Like all our blinds, roller window shades are effective at providing privacy and filtering the amount of light entering a room.

• Many roller shades are made from a sheer or semi-transparent fabric. This makes them ideal for anyone who loves the look and convenience of a roll up shade and also prefers that a decent amount of light still enters the room when closed.
• If you want more privacy or prefer to block more of the sunshine or artificial light coming in your windows, browse our extensive range of blackout blinds for a stellar selection of blackout roller shades.

Fabric roller shades are popular for kitchens and bathrooms

When shopping for window blinds and curtains, keep in mind that your wants and needs may vary quite a bit from room to room. For example, many people love a sunlight-filled kitchen or bathroom, and opting for window treatments like sheer roller blinds and sheer curtains makes solid design sense.

However, those same people may prefer to keep things as dark as possible in the bedroom to get their best sleep. Where sheer shades made sense in the kitchen, blocking the early morning sun in the bedroom is a job better-suited for blackout curtains or blinds. Luckily, you’ll find them all right here at IKEA!
