What is sol-gel?

We don't allow any PTFE or PFAS in our non-stick coated cookware. Instead, we use a sol-gel non-stick coating, often called a ceramic coating. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties.

With a quality frying pan like TAGGHAJ, you can ace it in the kitchen like a real champion.

A tall, off-white cabinet with upper and lower doors with bevelled panels. The doors open as one as a man pulls on a black handle, revealing a larder. Stacked dark grey, steel baskets filled with neatly arranged food containers, storage boxes and jars are pulled forwards. The man opens a glass jar sitting in one of the shallow door baskets and takes out a biscuit.

Never worry about finding your spice jar again

Welcome to the pantry that practically serves itself! With baskets that glide out automatically, you'll get a fantastic overview and easy reach to those sneaky snacks hiding in the back.

The baskets inside the cabinet pull out automatically when you open the door making it easy to access items in the back.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about kitchenware & tableware

What kitchenware essentials do Singapore homes need?
In Singapore homes, kitchenware needs to support compact kitchens, frequent home cooking, and multi‑cuisine lifestyles. Core essentials include durable cookware, heat‑resistant utensils, lightweight tableware, and smart storage that maximises cabinet space. Many households prioritise items that handle stir‑frying, steaming, baking, and reheating efficiently.

What types of tableware are most practical for everyday use in Singapore?
Everyday tableware in Singapore is typically microwave‑safe, easy to clean, and stackable. Plates and bowls made for daily meals should be suitable for rice dishes, soups, noodle meals, and shared dining. Neutral designs are popular because they work well for both casual family meals and hosting guests during festive occasions.

How do I choose kitchen tools for small Singapore kitchens?
For smaller kitchens, look for multi‑purpose tools, vertical storage options, and items that can be nested or hung. Space‑saving kitchenware helps keep countertops clear while ensuring daily cooking remains convenient. Foldable or stackable items are especially useful in HDB and condominium kitchens.

What should first‑time homeowners in Singapore look for in kitchenware?
First‑time homeowners should start with versatile, everyday essentials that can handle a range of cooking styles. Items that are durable, easy to maintain, and suitable for both weekday meals and occasional hosting provide the best long‑term value for new homes.

Why choose IKEA non‑stick cookware for everyday cooking?
IKEA non‑stick cookware uses sol‑gel coating technology to provide smooth food release, good heat performance, and easy cleaning with less oil. The cookware surfaces are developed for consistent heat distribution and everyday cooking. Find out more here.

How can kitchenware improve food storage and freshness in Singapore’s climate?
Singapore’s humid climate makes airtight containers essential for keeping food fresh. Proper storage helps prevent moisture exposure, odours, and pests. Stackable food containers also help keep refrigerators and cabinets organised, especially in smaller kitchens.

How often should kitchenware and tableware be replaced?
In Singapore households, kitchenware should be replaced when signs of wear affect performance or safety, such as damaged coatings or cracked tableware. Choosing well‑made items reduces the need for frequent replacements and supports long‑term use.

Why IKEA cookware lasts
IKEA cookware lasts because it is made with durable materials, tested for everyday home cooking, and designed for frequent use. Many ranges are suitable for high heat and common cooking styles, and selected products come with stated guarantees covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal household use, giving added confidence in long‑term performance. Additionally, some IKEA cookware features a sol‑gel non‑stick coating, a more durable and scratch‑resistant alternative to traditional coatings, designed for reliable cooking and easier cleaning.

Why is coordinated tableware popular in Singapore homes?
Coordinated tableware helps create a clean, organised dining look without extensive styling. Many Singapore homeowners prefer sets that match easily, making it simple to transition from everyday meals to hosting guests without additional preparation.
