What can I do if my product is missing parts?

If you have received a product or package with missing parts, you can order the parts online, pick them up at an IKEA store or request a delivery through IKEA Customer Service, depending on which part is missing.

If a component is missing from the product you just purchased, start by opening and checking all the boxes you brought from the store or that were delivered to you, as some products come divided into several packages.
If one or more parts of the product you bought are indeed missing, check whether that part has a 6‑ or 8‑digit reference number in the assembly instructions.
Identify the missing part in the assembly guide (available at IKEA.pt under Product > Product Details > Assembly & documents > Assembly instructions). Check whether the missing part has a 6‑ or 8‑digit code. Please note: some small parts (screws, fittings, etc.) have a code, while others do not.


There is a 6 or 8 digit code

If you find the 6 or 8 digit code for the missing part, it means that you can order spare parts via a Online form in IKEA.pt. We take care of shipping directly to your home, free of charge, within 14 business days.
If you need the part more urgently, most IKEA stores (except Planning Studios and Collection Points) have a selection of spare parts at the Customer Care desks. Availability may vary, but if the piece is in stock, you can take it immediately.

If you decide to visit an IKEA store but the piece is not in stock, we can also arrange it to be sent by post. It will be delivered to your address within 14 working days, free of charge.

There is no 6 or 8 digit code

If you can't find a code for the missing part, we're here to help. You can contact IKEA Customer Care in any way that works best for you – in-store or online.
  • Visit an IKEA store
    Before you go to your nearest IKEA store, make sure you take your purchase invoice or receipt with you. If you used your IKEA Family account at the time of purchase, you can easily access your receipt at Log in and check your Purchase History.
    In the store, go to the Customer Service desk.
One of our employees will help you identify the missing part. If the part is available in stock, you can take it with you immediately.
  • Contact IKEA Customer Service online
    If you prefer, you can talk to us online. In the chat, write "I want to talk to a co-worker" or call +351 219 899 945 - and from the main menu, dial 9233 to speak directly to an IKEA employee.
    We'll help you identify the missing part and explain the next steps. For faster service, have your order number or purchase invoice with you.
