Very frustratingAnonymous reviewerAs a season ikea customer for many, many years I normally love building my new ikea furniture….until now. It looks ridiculously easy to build but when the screws are made out of the weakest metal known to man the heads start to round off immediately. I had to use pliers to help my screwdriver turn them and I’ve damaged one corner because of it. The unit is still swaying like mad when I touch it, the back board (another nightmare) doesn’t attach with little nails, so the unit is not sturdy like every other item I’ve ordered in the past.
We have gone for 2 push open drawers, I wish I hadn’t because the gap is going to look ridiculous next to the doors (haven’t built those yet, came on here to ask for help with the weirdest instructions I’ve ever seen from Ikea) Anyway, great idea, fantastic unit for designing your storage layout but it feels like Ikea have subcontracted this piece out and it shows.

We hung it on the wall with support!Anonymous reviewerOrdered this & then read the description post-purchase… our fault- to find it states can not be wall hung… however, that’s what we have done as that’s what we planned the purchase for… with some careful consideration of supports- this now levitates and borders our media wall- the depth adds dimension perfectly against the shallower version of these units & the unit colour itself is a great dark neutral. We are happy!
Good but more complex to build than neededAnonymous reviewerThis is a good, solid TV unit that can be customised in lots of ways. However, the back board seemed more complicated than it needed to be. There were three separate pieces that needed to be joined together with a plastic strip. It was stiff and we were concerned excess pressure would snap the back board. Why couldn't this be one piece with holes pre cut for cables? The pins for the shelves were also confusing. The larger ones didn't line up with the shelves so we binned these and used the smaller pins. Overall good product
Terrible qualityAnonymous reviewerThis one is just horrendous. I have been a happy Ikea customer for over 25 year and have a lot of furniture from Ikea. This one is just rubbish. The boards sound like there is water running through them: a clear sign that the material is broken inside. The parts are awful quality or better to say cheap, cheaper, cheapest. Putting it together was a nightmare (never experienced this before). The doors are always misaligned until you wobble the cupboard a little. Truly disappointed in this product.
Easy build Anonymous reviewerI took about 6 hours to build three of these units, hang 9 doors and line them up. The build was very straightforward and when the frames were screwed to the wall they were very solid. As others have mentioned the material is very light but it seems sturdy enough and it did make it easy adjust the level. The instructions were easy the only concern was that it requires extra shelves to brace the frames so buy a couple more shelves than you think you'll need.
Worst product ever purchased Anonymous reviewerI have multiple different pieces of furniture from a range of styles and this one by far is the worst. Awkward to put together and not so straightforward! The screws were too big for the hole meaning that I struggled when trying to put it together for the cheap screw heads to instantly start rounding off at the slightest slip!
The doors I brought also had the same problem but then the hinges don't actually sit properly. I really do wish I'd have avoided it but am unable to simply return it so we're stuck with it. It's up now after almost three hours struggle

Each of the boards has small bitof of loose material inside, running up and down when the boards are moved. Sounds like a mouse inside the board. Awful construction of the back board. One Star is far too much. You have been warned!

Dark grey besta unitAnonymous reviewerGreat lightweight unit. Easily wall mounted onto flat surface. The unit really should have optional adjustable wall brackets and mounting plates. The besta system can be a nightmare to install when joining more than one unit together. Problems can arise with a difference in dimensions. It's pot luck wether you purchase two units the same size.

BESTA MEDIA UNITAnonymous reviewerExtremely disappointed with the quality of this item. The hardboard back is supposed to SLIDE into the rebates but this is impossible as the rebate on the sides is too small. The rebate in the end pieces is fine but you have to force the back into the side panels and I have unfortunately damaged both of the back panels for the two units that I was assembling.
I have assembled a lot of IKEA furniture and it has always been of high quality, gone together perfectly and I have always been happy with the result. I have now seen several reviews complaining of similar issues with this item.
Unfortunately there is also a ripple in the laminated finish of one of the units. I am unable to recommend this range to anyone
Worst a not Besta!Anonymous reviewerDespite very careful handling, the fitting of the back board is almost impossible without some damage. It’s a total fiddle even for two people. The quality overall is disappointing. It’s not something I would purchase again. It’s cost engineering gone too far. Sorry IKEA but this is a low point.

The frame scuffs easily, my first one wobbled so I got a replacement…which was also chipped and the doors didn’t match. The doors don’t close together properly. Cheap materials for a non-cheap price. The assembly instructions are awful. Don’t waste your money!
Space saving useful storage Anonymous reviewerLoved these so much bought three . Great size and very useful if space it tight as they are not too deep . Bought the double stacked one and a single and the work so well in my livingroom holding remotes ,blue rays etc . They match perfectly with my other besta tv unit and really make for a well finished room . Very happy with my purchases. Arrived on time and well packaged .

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
