Scratched interior on multiple unitsAnonymous reviewerI've bought Besta several times and found minor scratches throughout. Just bought another one of these and the back panel has a straight long scratch. Went to the store to refund and bought another one. Came home, unpacked, lo and behold... similar scratch at the same location.
This is clearly a QA issue and I'm pretty disappointed as I don't want to visit the store again so will just install it as is.

Handy Shelving Option to Create Interesting Besta Units or Stand Alone Book StorageAnonymous reviewerThis unit can be used to create a bit of 3D interest in an otherwise flat Besta shelving unit, can be used in uneven walls areas to create a flat front on a large shelving area, or as I have done it makes a nice standalone mid-level row of book storage. These have crept up in price recently but are still OK value - its does get pricey when adding shelves though or even more-so with doors. Typically good quality, but I have found the finishing on the laminate is occasionally a little questionable on more recent purchases - a bit of white filler helped.

Shelf didn't fit inAnonymous reviewerAfter assembling the unit, found out that shelf doesn't fit in by about a millimeter. The shelf length is a correct length according to IKEA but the frame with shelf holders was about a millimeter too short for the shelf to slot in. Looks like the pre-drilled holes on the frame were a bit off. I wish ikea made a shelf a couple of millimetres shorter to account for these variations.
I was offered a replacement frame but I really didn't want to risk spending more time assembling and having the same issue.
Poorly designed and does not include wall safety anchorAnonymous reviewerWe had seen these besta frames with Bjorkviken doors at IKEA and thought that was the perfect combination for our living room. How wrong! The frames are flimsy while the doors are heavy, leading it to topple unless the frames are anchored to the wall.
Does it include wall anchors? Nope. It isn't until you unpack the items within the packaging that it says the anchors are not included. Fantastic, another trip out before we can safely use this furniture.
Why does IKEA include anchors for some but not other items? Also the frame itself is over engineered with poor quality materials. All for the price we paid, I cannot recommend.
Warning Do not buy if you intend joining any togetherAnonymous reviewerThese very poorly constructed flat pack units are impossible to assemble so that you can join several together to make one unit. Sides are not square to top and bottom and cheap plastic cams are sloppy, allowing sides to be fixed in different positions. Hence being impossible to join units to make one nice looking unit and making it impossible to align doors. Buyer beware.
Space saving useful storage Anonymous reviewerLoved these so much bought three . Great size and very useful if space it tight as they are not too deep . Bought the double stacked one and a single and the work so well in my livingroom holding remotes ,blue rays etc . They match perfectly with my other besta tv unit and really make for a well finished room . Very happy with my purchases. Arrived on time and well packaged .
