What is the ideal sleeping temperature?

A stable temperature in your bedroom plays an important role when it comes to getting quality sleep. A consistent temperature supports your body’s natural sleep process, promoting deeper, more restful slumber. Maintaining a bedroom temperature of about 16–17°C is often recommended for optimal sleep quality. But you know you best and everyone has their own preference.

True comfort doesn’t stop at the thermostat

It’s important to select a duvet that balances with your body’s natural nighttime preferences. Consider the thickness and material of your duvet as well. A cool one might be enough if you tend to retain heat, while a warmer, or extra warm, duvet can be a lifesaver for those who feel the cold during the night.

Lighting for Better Sleep

Consider investing in dimmable lamps and lighting that you can begin slowly dimming after the sun goes down, or in the hours leading up to bedtime. You can also reduce the total number of lights on in your house, or use lower intensity light sources in the evening.Blue light from electronics, including mobile phones and televisions, is among the worst types of light to take in before sleep. Blue light inhibits your body’s ability to produce melatonin—a natural, sleep-promoting hormone. Resist the urge to check your email or social media ‘one last time’ before bed and see if your sleep benefits!
