How to achieve the best bedroom lighting

Figuring out the best lighting for sleep is easy: just turn all the lights out! But there is so much more than sleeping going on in a bedroom: waking up, getting dressed, relaxing, reading, winding down… Make sure to plan the light in separate zones for those different activities, to not leave anything in the dark.

The main light is just the beginning

Most rooms have a main ceiling lamp, but the bright ideas don’t stop there. With wall-mounted lamps, integrated wardrobe lighting, a floor lamp and rechargeable lamps to move around, there are ways to have a completely different light in the bedroom at different times. And even that main ceiling lamp can be modified with different types of lightbulbs to shine the perfect light on you.

Open for light

PAX wardrobes can be complemented with ÖVERSIDAN integrated light, that automatically shines the light on all your clothes and belongings the second you open the wardrobe doors. The same way the light of course, shuts off when you close those doors again.

Step into the limelight

A big smile and an extra lamp over a full-size mirror like LINDBYN, are all you need to feel like a star! It’s also a great way to check your outfit without having to turn on the main lamp and light up the entire room. A couple of hooks next to the mirror is the perfect spot for accessories or tomorrow’s outfit.

So much more than a light bulb

Once upon a time, a light bulb was just a light bulb, perhaps with a slight difference in how bright it was. Today, there are light bulbs for every mood and activity. Why? Because no one wants the same light for work or study as for an early morning breakfast or late-night dinner. So, choose a light bulb carefully to make sure you get exactly the right warmth and strength of light, dimmable or not, big or small, with remote control or not. It’s worth the effort to find the perfect one, just ask for help at the store! MOLNART is a range of LED light bulbs in different sizes, looks and lights. The one thing they all have in common is the approximate lifetime of 15.000 hours!

Praise the floor lamp

A floor lamp such as STOCKHOLM 2025 spreads its soft light all around and instantly beautifies any room or corner. It might be the easiest way to add an extra light, since all it requires is a wall socket within reach. It’s easy to move around too, to fulfil the need for light anywhere in the room.

Light a candle and feel the wings of time

There’s something almost poetic about lighting a real candle. Perhaps it’s a built-in greeting from old times, telling us to take a deep breath and slow down? The STOCKHOLM 2025 reversible candlestick and tealight holder adds to that classic look. As a bonus, they also match the BEGÅVNING glass cones, for things that fall under the “look but don’t touch” category.

The tones of falling asleep

The bedside table is a great spot for a speaker, especially if that speaker is built into a dimmable lamp. Listen to soft music, a book, a fall-asleep podcast or whatever best relaxes your mind. Then turn on some happy tunes to help you wake up dancing in the morning. BLOMPRAKT Bluetooth speaker lamp, available in three different colours, might very well be the answer to your dreams.
