A thick layer of foam on top adds softness.

The soft quilted stretch fabric follows your body movements and has added wadding for more cushioning.

The mattress may need about 72 hours to fully regain its shape and comfort after having been roll-packed. Any wrinkles will disappear too.

Sometimes the packaging may have given the mattress a noticeable smell which will disappear over a short period of time.

Not at all Firm, No side support.YugantI purchased this mattress, Tried it for 7-8 nights. Firstly, it took almost a week to get into position and once it gains its positions, you could see and feel dips on the surface of mattress. Secondly, this is NOT AT ALL firm mattress.. horrible sleeping experience.. I returned this mattress already !!! Return experience was another DISASTER!1

Not FirmNicoleI purchased the VALEVÅG twin mattress in November 2025, hoping the pocket springs would provide lasting support. Unfortunately, after only three months of use, the center of the mattress has developed a noticeable indent. When compared to the rest of the mattress surface, the middle has lost its resilience and sags leading to back discomfort.2

Bump in the middleAndreaI have been using this mattress for three months, and there is still a noticeable bump in the middle. It has never flattened out like a normal mattress. This affects comfort and quality, and I am concerned that this may be a manufacturing or fabric defect. I am very disappointed and would like this issue to be addressed3
DisappointingVelvaleeIt was the second most firm mattress on the floor, when I went to try out mattresses. After three months the centre of the mattress has lost its firmness. It’s a double I’m the only one sleeping on it and I am only 73 kgs. Will try to return, but it may be too late.1

It’s soft, unsupportive, and feels worn out far too quickly for something that’s supposed to be new. Every morning I get up feeling stiff and uncomfortable, because this mattress offers zero proper support. It sinks in all the wrong places and somehow manages to feel uneven no matter how many times I rotate it. For the price, this mattress is unacceptable. It does not deliver what it promises, and I honestly regret wasting my money on it. If you actually care about comfort or back support, avoid this one — it will disappoint you just like it did me.1
Hazardous to your healthRobertWhile the build quality is good, the design of the "comfort zones" is terrible. If you only sleep on your side, and you're the right body shape and size that fits perfectly, this mattress is probably good for you. But if you spend any time sleeping on your back, your lower spine will be cantilevered over the transition zone between hard and soft springs. This causes a pressure point that will never go away. After two months, I've only woken up without a sore back once. Ikea should stop selling this, or redesign it to soften the zone transitions.2

Not as firmMonicaI don’t usually give reviews but thought I’d write one for this as I was really disappointed at how this mattress turned out. Like what others have been saying, this is not really firm. I’ve been using this for about 2 months now and I wake up with lower back pain everyday so now, I have to buy a mattress topper just to make my bed comfortable. Hopefully Ikea makes a better “firm” mattress.2

The mattress works while you sleep

The comfort zones of our mattresses are simply zones that support your body in different ways to keep your spine aligned and create a good a sleeping position. Slightly softer springs around the hip and shoulder, so they can sink softly into the mattress. And slightly firmer springs where, on the contrary, support is needed – such as for the legs and ankles. The overall effect is that your body does not have to work to find a comfortable position.
