I was very pleased with the packaging. Everything protected, and all in one compact box. I like the way the lampshade is oval in shape, so takes up less space on the bedside table. I like the light switch on the cord. I found them to be a little bit overpriced, but they are extremely sturdy, and you have to expect to pay for quality.4

Nice solid good quality streamlined lamp. Perfect for bedside & doesn’t take up too much space. I also like the switch is in the cable so easy to turn off lying down.

Material

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.

We were given the task to create a series of lamps with a clear expression that could add a slightly luxurious feel in your home. The most distinctive feature of UPVIND table and floor lamps is the sturdy, thick metal base that looks like a chain or a part of some jewellery – and the oval lampshade means that they take up little room. We hope these lamps help you create a space where you can reflect and enjoy a warm, relaxing atmosphere reminiscent of a welcoming hotel lobby.
