FrustratingManishaIt’s very hard to put together we’re out of glue. I really hope if I can find a real video where I can assemble I have bought it, but I’m not able to put together although we had three people here, but we are clueless and I didn’t find any video in YouTube.1
Great bedAhmedThis is the second one I bought5
Base not includedKarleenWe got this bed 2 weeks ago and we just happend to assemble it last night, When we are almost done assembling the bed we realized there is NO bed base included. It is so frustrating that it didn't mentioned that we need to buy the base separately. We double check before we leave the store if there's another box along with it but there is none so we thought everything was inside even the base. This is the first time we bought a bed in ikea so we don't have idea that it was not included because usually when you bought a bed frame even the base should be included. Now we need to go to the store just to buy the base. And it is an hour drive from our place.3
The third time buyingFloraGood quality5
Great real wood bed!AlinaI'm really happy with this bed—it's made of real wood! The only thing I don't like is that my son's pillow keeps slipping between the slats of the headboard. Do you happen to have a soft cover for the headboard that fits this specific bed? Thank you!5
Just what I needed.WilliamPerfect size & design and not too difficult to assemble on my own !!5
Great single bedMoniqueIt was easy to build and the quality was great 😊5
awesome bedDanielbought 2 beds and mattress for the spare guest room.. Everyone that's slept in them loves them5
We bought it for MIL who downsized to a senior's homeTammieWe're really happy with the bed, my mother in law wanted something that wouldn't take up much space in her much smaller bedroom and it was easy to put together, looks fresh and is stable and comfortable5
Missing some partsFrancesForm and function of Tarva is great for a small space, unfortunately some assembly parts were missing that made the process of building the bed frustrating.3
Awful sound!DmytroThis bed creaks and cracks terribly! Even a child can’t turn over on it without making that noise.1
Mattress falls throughCelsaIt wasn’t specified that I have to buy a whole other part for another $30 for this bed to be useful. Without the extra part the bed just continuously falls through with little weight2
Good value bedframeCarolOnce put together, (definitely need two people) you need to put some buffer under the slants. I used weather stripping and voila, no more squeaky bed!
It’s great now. 4
Simple and basicShannonGreat for kids or a budget bed. It looks nice and functions fine, but this is definitely a very basic bed. It does not feel super sturdy and is probably not meant for long-term daily use, unless by a child. 4
Simple and great!Ahmad MasoudI have a small room and this simple design allows me to have plenty of space for activities.
I found it to be quite easy to assemble. Only required a hammer, and a flathead screwdriver.
2 steps towards the end required 2 people, but I reckon it could also be done with something to prop up the pieces while you put the legs on.5

Sturdy and easy to assembleDassineIt was kind of easy and fast to assemble despite all the little bars on the headboard. It's very sturdy and large enough for an adult but we're using it for a school aged kid.5
Love itDavidWe bought these for our daughter's who share a fairly small room. They don't look bulky, and are slightly more narrow than the Malm. They feel sturdy. Only thing is they will move on a wood floor, but a carpet or maybe rubber feet would help.5
Great 1st Bed for GrabddaughterTracyFits well for to room, easy to get into for little legs, easy to put together. 5
Solid little bed!WayneI bought the Tarva twin size when Ikea had it in the natural pine in 2008. Stained and varnished it and it was really solid -- no squeaks, no loosening up of the screws -- held up under an adult's weight no problem. Of course, this was pre-Covid and I'm not sure if the new Tarva is built as solid as mine was, but for the price I think it'll do okay.
One piece of advice: don't disassemble/reassemble too often or the screws won't tighten anymore. I disassembled/reassembled it 3 times, and the screws were getting loose on the last assemble.5
