Combine this bed frame with a slatted bed base with a max. thickness of 4 cm to keep the slats hidden in the frame. The slats of a higher bed base may be visible along the sides of the bed.

Fantastic little bed!WayneBought this in 2014 when it was offered in the unfinished pine version. This is one super sturdy bed! It has withstood being unassembled and reassembled 3 times; have had adults of different weights sleep on it (it's in a spare room) and is still going strong -- no squeaks or splits in the frame.
I stained and varnished the unfinished wood to reinforce it and prevent chips and stains.
Now, understand, I bought this post-Covid and I cannot attest to the quality of bed currently offered (as many can testify, quality has went downhill in almost every sector of industry), so, purchase at your own discretion.5
