Serious ResidueEmmaOh this underlay definitely works, but it will also leave glue all over your floors. Like another reviewer imagined might happen, I *did* discover this while in the end stages of packing up my house for sale. I had three of these in my house, down for five years each, and it was a mess. Not worth it!!

It comes folded and, because it so sticky, it takes a lot of work to pull apart.
Once pulled apart, it does not lay flat due to stretching in the fold creases.
It's hard to position a rug on it because, again, it's so sticky.
And, no matter what you do, the carpet will be lumpy because this underlay does not lay flat.
This entire product needs to be reconceived.
I will be returning it.

Sticky residueDianaThe pad worked great for keeping my carpet in place and I had no issues for years. However, just like another review, when I redid my office a month ago and decided to remove the carpet, getting the sticky residue off my hardwood floors was terrible! Soap and water only gets off a portion of it and I needed to carefully scrape off the rest of the residue. Be weary of this!

So frustrated with removing residue inch by inchMA followup to my previous review as I cannot respond to your response there IKEA; I am on the floor with warm soapy water, a soft sponge and paper towels -- this residue is literally taking me many hours over several days to remove. I find it impossible to believe that my situation is unique. Seriously, this is crazy. I am a huge IKEA fan but this product should offer a warning that this will happen. What if you're moving and you realize this issue when you pull up your carpets with the moving truck outside? Luckily I am not in that situation but this is painstaking hard work that I really did not expect to have to do when I wanted to refresh three extra large (IKEA) carpets and several runners -- I am replacing the VISTOFT (250cm x 350 cm each), which I adored but needed refreshing, for STOCKHOLMs so you can imagine how many square inches there are to carefully scrub.
Left with sticky residue on floors all over the houseMIKEA, this is unacceptable! We are removing the STOPP filt we have used all over our solid maple wood floors (living room, dining room, hallway) and we are left with a sticky residue that is proving impossible to remove. How on earth are we going to get this clean?! Terrible -- it worked to keep the carpets in place but at what cost?! Please don't buy unless you want to ruin your floors.
