Ratings and reviews

Works as a sheer blindAndrewIf you want a blind that filters light rather than blocks it, this is a good choice. Easy installation - you will need screws/plugs/etc to mount the brackets to you wall or window casing. When closing, the blind rolls slow; not a problem once you realize that it's not a defect.5
Completely transparent at nightSarahI thought this would provide some privacy, but it was quite a while before I learned that while it looked like people couldn’t see in, they actually could! This was terrible news for showering with a view into the washroom from the street.1
SatisfiedAnneLove the simplicity and chique look and for the value, it does the job well. My only issue is that it does not come with screws or anchors, only the frame clips and would prefer the wall screws and anchors be part of the purchase. Thankfully we had them but for a student or someone with limited tools and hardware, they would not be thinking of this.5
Nice and easyErika B.Very nice looking, quality is good too, it doesn't block the light but at the same time it doesn't let see from the outside, very very easy to install, I am very happy with the product, will be buying more soon.5
Well made blind. It wasJULIAWell made blind. It was not marketed well to see in store that there were 4 different Types. Each type had an opaqueness. The one I mistakenly bought was the lightest. Upon returning… the other 3 were not there. The signs or marketing material did not draw you attention to this . I was disappointed and had to return. The size, length and weight were perfect for my window.4
Love my new blindWendyEasy to install. Can see out but not in. Love how it retracts so slowly.5
Great shade at an affordable priceKIMBERLEYThus shade gives me the light I want but helps keep tge heat out of the family room too. I will be buying a couple more5

Great window blindIRINAExcellent blind for a kitchen window, enough coverage for privacy but also allows for the light/sun to go through. Not a black out blind in any way. A little expensive in my opinion, but still fairly priced on the market for similar product comparison.5
Easy install doesn’t block out lightAlexMore for decorating office use, allows more privacy than a screen but too much light goes through3
Great blindALLISONGreat blind5
Good Light filtering blindBrunoThese do not provide any privacy. Just a sheer blind that filters light. They are easy to install and operate smoothly.4

Skogsclover BlindsrajanI bought the Blinds last week and have installed them. Installation was easy and the blinds look good. I would have given five stars if the blinds had a valance like the Tretur model. Ikea should consider selling valances for the Skogsclover and Fridans blinds as well.4
BlinddDarleneBeautiful easy to install great value5
Careful installing this over a window frameBrian C.I installed this immediately above a framed window, where the frame trim is about 1/2" deep, only to realize that the roller bracket at each end of the roller allows a gap of only 5/16" from the wall, so it wouldn't fit. I could reverse the blind, but then it would pull down backwards from the front of the roll instead of from the back of the roll. I had to remove the end brackets (which releases the tension stored in the spring that pulls the blind back up), switch the ends of the roller, reload the tension in the spring, reattach the end brackets and mount the blind on the wall brackets again. Ultimately it all worked, but not everyone would be able to make that work. A better way would have been wall brackets that are extensible out from the wall. Note also that the product does not include mounting screws (4 required) or drywall anchors (if needed). Otherwise, good value for the price!3
Nice blinds for the price.ANDREInstall went well. Don’t really like the look of the top edge where you can visually see the 3 spring clamps. A top cover plate would be nice for a cleaner look.3
great priceDEBBIESlim looking blinds; easy to install; fast delivery; well priced. What's not to like?5

Our take on polyester

Polyester is a durable, wrinkle-resistant and easy-care material that is ideal for many home furnishing products like rugs, pillows, quilts and cushions. The downside to virgin polyester is that it is made from oil, coal or natural gas. This means that when we use virgin polyester, we are exhausting the planet’s natural resources. Our response to this, is to replace all virgin polyester with recycled in our products. In 2020, we achieved the milestone of replacing 79% of the virgin polyester used in IKEA textile products and will accelerate the transformation towards the aim of only using recycled polyester throughout the product range where polyester is used.

Virgin vs recycled polyester

Originally, all polyester was made from oil-based raw materials which are not renewable but we are switching to only using recycled polyester. The good thing is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without negatively affecting the quality of our products. When we make products from recycled polyester, we give a second life to material that is not biodegradable and reduce the amount that may otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean. Instead, PET and other sources of polyester are used to make textiles, storage boxes, kitchen fronts and even lamps. Recycled polyester is just as good as virgin polyester in terms of looks, quality and function, and produces about 50% less in CO2 emissions. And the material is just as clean and safe in every way.

Some challenges with recycled polyester

Recycled polyester makes us less dependent on oil. The amount we convert, is equal to the amount of virgin fossil fuel we eliminate from our polyester raw material (this excludes potential dyeing and other post recycled polyester production treatments). With some exceptions, the challenge is not the conversion of polyester into recycled itself, but to make it available to everyone by keeping it affordable. Buying low environmental impact products often comes with a higher price tag. We want to change that by working to make recycled polyester products more affordable and accessible to the many people.

Only recycled polyester

IKEA is committed to end the dependency on virgin fossil materials and only use renewable or recycled materials by 2030. We are accelerating this movement for polyester in our range and aim to replace all virgin polyester in our textile products with recycled. In 2020, IKEA replaced 79% of the virgin polyester used in IKEA textile products with recycled polyester. In volume, this means we converted 130,000 metric tonnes of recycled polyester, and saved 200,000 tonnes of virign polyester. We haven’t reached our 100% goal yet, but we have come far and overcome many obstacles on the way. These volumes make us a leader in converting to recycled polyester and we hope that our decisions can inspire and motivate whole industries to change.

Responsible sourcing

At IKEA, we demand that all recycled polyester used in IKEA products shall come from recyclers that are compliant with the Global Recycled Standard and traceability is secured to the IKEA product through requirements toward the IKEA Suppliers. By only using recycled polyester that meets the Global Recycled Standards we manage to secure social, environmental and chemical practices at the recycler’s production. We believe that the GRS standard is the best standard on the market today. We work with our partners and textile organizations such as Textile Exchange to further improve standards on recycled materials, including traceability of material beyond the recycling units.

Material

What is recycled polyester?

We want to have a positive impact on the planet. One way is to make products from recycled polyester. When we do, PET bottles and other sources of polyester get a new life in textiles, storage boxes, kitchen fronts and even lamps. When using them, you get to enjoy exactly the same quality and function as with virgin polyester products. And naturally, they’re just as clean and safe in every way. And perhaps the very best part – you contribute to saving on new raw materials too.

Quality

A safer everyday at the window

Children are the most important people in the world, and home should be the safest place in the world. That’s why we committed to removing all window coverings with cords, and come up with better solutions. So not only are all our window coverings now cordless or with inaccessible cords, but the material and the products as a whole have gone through rigorous safety testing. We’re proud to say that our window coverings have never been better – or safer.

Function solution

Blinds and Smart Blinds safe use by all ages

To suit your style and needs, we have a wide variety of roller blinds, venetian blinds, roman blinds, cellular blinds as well as pleated blinds that you can pull from top to bottom or from bottom to top. We also have smart/wireless blinds. All our blinds are either cordless or have cords embedded into the design to ensure no dangling loops and safe use by all ages.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

”I like a roller blind that rolls smoothly and is easy to get in place. It should be easy to pull down and stay where you want it, and roll back up without going too fast. To make it all happen, I worked closely with the supplier for the design of SKOGSKLÖVER roller blind. And there were a lot of tough tests before we reached the smoothness we wanted. This roller blind will earn its keep wherever you put it.”
