Assembly is brutal ErinI've had this bed for 4.5 years. First time assembly was pretty challenging. I moved with it once and paid the movers to disassemble and reassemble. I'm about to move again and have decided to just buy a new bed. I never want to deal with the assembly of this bed again. But hey, it has last this long so that should count for something. 3
Amazing bed - one flaw ScottHave had this bed for five years. Love it. However, over time the wooden slats come apart where the (scrap) pieces of wood have been joined together. It’s great that IKEA is trying to repurpose scrap wood, but these slats should be single pieces of solid wood. 3
Good drawersKristyThe best platform bed with storage offered at ikea. I’ve had a couple over the years. The drawers are actually built into the frame instead of free floating add-ons you just tuck under the bed. If you’re debating getting one of those instead, don’t - they don’t roll very well at all, especially on carpet. This bed is sturdy and sleek looking. I do recommend using wood glue on the dowels for the drawers when assembling, after a while (a few years) the front of the drawers can get loose from the repeated tugging them open everyday, but I still like them more then the frames with handles sticking out on them - which are a recipe for early-morning banged shins. So if I need a platform bed with storage this is the one. Note, when assembled, it’s VERY heavy, and not easy to move - but it’s pretty easy to take apart and transport in a few pieces if you’re moving to a new home.5
Fits well in room - not too long and appreciate storage.LindaFull disclosure somebody else put this together for us, but it’s strong and the slats held weight as proven by our installer standing on slats. Good to be aware that the two storage drawers at the head of the bed won’t be accessible. If you have nightstands you’ll have to buy the ones that fit on the wall itself. We bought a queen size bed for guests. Some of the bed frames use up a lot more space in width and length than this one does it’s relatively compact.5

Decent bed frame with storage drawersMiNice bed frame, but some drawbacks. Multiple pieces had folded over top layer, gouged marks, dents, or general defects. Top parts didn't line up and had to get creative to bow up the bottom center to get it to drop in. Wood chips coming out of every nook and hole. For the price of this you'd think they'd do some QA as many of the defects are visible by eye and not shipping damage. I live far from an ikea so it was a pain and time consuming to go back to swap parts. Clothes that are slightly too high will hit the wooden slat supports and bounce back open. CAUTION: The drawers are lower than to top of your foot so eventually it'll draw blood. The corner of a drawer pinched the top of my foot right at the vein junction and resulted in a large black bruise.3
Terrible Center SupportConnorThe center of the bedframe has wood slates without a center support that touches the ground. Your mattress on this frame will collapse/cave in the center within 3-5 years. We had no idea that this bedframe would have insufficient support, now our mattress is ruined and we need to buy a new one. Also apparently our mattress warranty is void because of the insufficient bedframe. This was something was were completely unaware of. Sure, this bedframe will be great for the first few years but after that your mattress is ruined. Either buy this for almost 1k and put the effort into building a support in the middle or skip the headache altogether and go with anything else that actually has proper center bed support. We bought a king set back in 2021 and our mattress is toast now :'(1

AVOID and Bad QualitySiuThe quality of IKEA Nordli bedframe with storage is very bad, the expected duration of the bed frame is 1 year and can't last for 2 years. The bed frame will be broken but you won't be alerted during the change of bedsheet. You can only discover when you pull the whole mattress up. The customer services can't help you either. It is extremely expensive that C$1500 bedframe can only good for 1 year. This is the first time I tried IKEA bed frame, I am totally disappointed about the quality and customer services of IKEA. 1

Best bang for buck!MonitaWe searched everywhere for a bedframe for a king that has storage. This one was the best one and at the best price. the slow closing drawers are awesome. Assembly was pretty easy. took about 2 hours for 2 people. It feels sturdy. Storage is so handy to have. Just note that if you plan on having night stands , the two drawers near the head of the bed wont be accessible.5

The error in its size is so terribleJunyoungOne of the main pieces that support mattress has completely wrong size in every way. It's probably a manufacturing error, but it is so big that it's literally impossible to complete the assembly. THE WORST product I've bought from IKEA.1

Used less than 2 years now squeakyJiadiPurchased on Aug 26th, 2021. We used less than 2 years (2 adults total weight under 300lbs) and now the bed frame is making annoying squeaky with even a small movement (like just turning my body to a different side...) We did a full inspection and made sure all the bolts are properly tighten. At the end, we found it was because of the bed slats (come with the bed frame purchase) becomes uneven and is making the noise all the time... We went to Ikea Ottawa store asking if we could get a replacement or even purchase it for a price, but they can't help. All they told us is to buy a new bed frame.... It costed us 700 CAD now we have to put them in waste1

Great quality, solid and heavy--assemble in place, excellent pull-out drawers; buy the headboard (which is attached to the wall) so all 6 drawers are accessible and nightstands won't block the drawers at the head of the bed. Best IKEA bed.

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
