Looks elegant and solid bedKirtiLooks elegant and solid bed frame. Highly recommended5
Make it in twinYvonne B.great bed with storage!! Would be awesome for a kids room in a twin size5
Beautiful however…Jessica B.I’ve had this bedframe for nearly a year now. It’s beautiful and I love the smooth drawers… however, the pitiful wooden slats aren’t very supportive for my king sized mattress. The whole mattress keeps sinking in the middle. So I had to get a boxspring which was yet another expense I wasn’t expecting to make. I wish there had been a better way to replace the slats for something more supportive but adding the boxspring on top of the frame was the only solution I could find.3
i loved it. its strongHarpreeti loved it. its strong5

Great king platform bed!TanjaWe love the bed it’s designed quite well and is pretty easy to build and solid once fully assembled. The finish is really nice unlike some of the other items that IKEA has like the EKET cube cabinets.5
Love it!MaryLove it!5
Big bed for a small roomDIANEWe planned on buying a different bed but when we saw how compact Nordic looked with the added benefit of storage we bought it in Queen instead. It was easy to assemble and doesn’t overpower our small guest room. Very sturdy. Drawers were a bit finicky to get just right so they close on their own.5
Great frame!TinaWas actually fun to put together and love the look and is great! I love the drawers how they have the slow close so you can’t slam them!5
LOVEAnaOur favourite bed frame we’ve had. Great storage. Instructions could be more clear (beware the screws) but things turned out well.5
Great for a tiny houseHelmaGreat for a tiny house with little storage space5
King Nordli with six drawersShannonLove this bed. Went together like a dream. Sturdy and beautiful. The drawers are amazing—best design I’ve ever seen. Totally recommend it.5
I am satisfied with NORDI bedJINYOUNGI've waited for a long time to get this bed because I live in Victoria BC so either go to Vancouver or make it delivered. However, the delivery fee is not that cheap. I decided to wait for a while until it gets a free delivery date. However, I could not get what I wanted to purchase of them at once because the items were not available. I was looking for another bed but it was not available at that time so I decided to get NORDI instead. It was very good and take a long time to assemble and the mattress came rolled up and took a little while to be flattened. Assembly was not easy as I expected but finally, everything went well and I am using the bed and satisfied with it! I could recommend it to my friends.4
Overall very good but IBROOKSOverall very good but I have to say some of the drawers don't line up as beautifully as I think they should for the price I paid.4
Nordli comfortJanetMakes a good foundation for a mattess. But, the corners stick out too much and are pointy instead of rounded. We get lots of bruises on our shins from bumping into the corners.4
Good but HARD to put togetherErica B.Love the drawers/storage and the look of this bed but OH BOY was it ever hard to put together. 8 hours of constant work, sweat, tears and lots of pain relievers. I have bruises from putting this together somehow. Bed looked good at first, but some of the paint is warped/separating from the press wood… and chipped.3
This is the 2nd oneGloriaThis is the 2nd one I purchased. Love the bed and drawers are good quality.5
Great product!GregorySolid ,well made, and good price. Takes some time to put it together but do right and you have a really useful and attractive bed. I didn't bother with the friction strip to hold the mattress in place. It's not needed with my mattress.5
Really like the storage spaceDianeReally like the storage space of three drawers on each side and the look of the head board5
Beautiful bed!NazneenLove that it has so much storage for linens, bed sheets, quilts and comforters. The size of the bed and headboard fill up my room in a nice way. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a storage bed and have the budget.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in a responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.

Function solution

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"When I designed the NORDLI bedroom series I was inspired by modern Scandinavian design and smart functions. It all started with just a bed and bedside table, then grew into a complete series. Each piece works great alone or combined with others. They all have their own special features with focus on functionality and quality. The modular chests come in different shapes and sizes that you can combine freely to suit your space. Some pieces are also great in other rooms too, like the living room, hall – even in a small business."
