cheap and shifts too muchTinathis shifts around so much whenever I get into bed causing the wood to creak all the time. do not get it... 1
NoisySoroushI bought 3 , all of that very noisy 1
Fixed our IssueJadaWe had bought a bed from another place and the slats were small and weak and broke repeatedly. With the purchase of these slats, there is no longer an issue. These ones are wonderfully thick and sturdy and make for a much more restful sleep. Love them!5
Needs to be included with everybedFelecityI think these slats should be included with every ikea bed especially if they need the slats. the bed is already so expensive and adding $50 on top of that just to buy the slats is ridiculus1
+Stable, -AssemblyUsamahGood stable product. No concerns with its function. Assembly is quite a horror show. Please work on making this easier. Maybe being able screw from above instead of under the bed.4
Malm Kingsize bedTochukwuI am extremely disappointed with the IKEA Malm Kingsize bed, including its slats. This has to be the most poorly made bed I’ve ever purchased. I bought it late last year, and it has been constantly squeaking ever since. Despite my best efforts to fix the issue, nothing has worked. I would not recommend this bed to anyone—it’s a waste of money and plagued by a persistent, uncomfortable squeaky noise.1
No stability NimritThese slats fall through at least 1-2 times a week while I'm sleeping and scare the crap out of me. How is it supposed to stay in place... And talc is not an option.1
Great bed baseRobertExcellent bed base, easy to install.5
not suitable for a thin mattressJaneI use a foam mattress and it's too light to keep the slats in place. They keep sliding around when changing sheets and make noise with every toss and turn. It could probably be improved by adding spacers and cushioning but I'm not going to continue using these. 3
It's A Good SupportRusselEverything is exactly as described and it arrived on time. 5
NOISYStevenWorks, provides medium firm support, but too squeaky whenever you move on the bed. Need silicone or other padding material at the end of each bar where they rest on the support rails.2
So loud oh my godMicheleThese are the loudest, creakiest slats ever. They are horrible. You barely have to move and it sounds like they are going to fall apart - I swear you just have to look at them and they creak. No, I will not be using talc to reduce friction as it is not safe to breathe in. On top of that, they don’t stay in one spot. Half of the slats move and scrunch up so the mattress ends up sinking a bit. Definitely do not recommend. 1
Crap AzeemNever buy this crap . Started back ache because of this very poorly designed. Worst product 1
Very good and sturdyIzazPerfect fit for the base. 4
LuroyAmirVery strong and intelligent design I highly recommend it5
I really regreat itFilipeI don't even know how I will be able to use it. It was horrible to install it... After a tiring work, I was able to at least place the matress on top of it. But the brig problem is... there is no way you hold the slats on the bed frame for it not to move. So now whenever I move the bed around they will all fall haha. Horrible... I will have to come up with an idea how to make it fixed on the bed frame. 80 dollars I spent and a frustration work, I guess I will need to sleep on the matress on the floor again.1
Extremely loudDavidThese slats are extremely loud whenever you move, making the bed highly uncomfortable. I'm frustrated that these seem to be the only slats compatible with the Askvoll twin bed frame, and IKEA doesn’t offer any alternatives. This has turned the entire experience into a nightmare, leaving the bed practically unusable.
IKEA, I kindly ask that you arrange to collect the bed and slats. Dismantling the frame and driving it back to a store is an unreasonable burden. As a billion-dollar company, I believe you can handle this responsibly. Please contact me.1
Loudest slats I ever did hearNicoleWe've always had IKEA slats, and recently ordered these - they are bowed as pictured and I don't know if that's what causes all the noises but holy smokes it's hard to sleep on these things if you move at all during the night. The older IKEA slats used to be thicker and perfectly straight - these are super thin, and as mentioned before they are bowed as the picture shows. I will probably replace them with something we make ourselves because this was an IKEA fail for us.1
Frugal slat optionAnonymousBought to use on a generic metal bed frame for our child's bedroom. It's a frugal option compared to purchasing a box spring, and it bears weight decently. The only downside is that the slats don't always stay in place at either end of the bed. If there was a mechanism to ensure they wouldn't slide around, it could be better.
But for the price it works. 4
