Love my new bed! directionsKellyLove my new bed! directions were easy to follow for assembly! I was able to still use box spring and mattress although not necessary. Got the drawers for under it and it looks fantastic and complete!5
Loved it. Easy to assembleMichelleLoved it. Easy to assemble very sturdy5
Love my new bedMichealI am very pleased with the ease of set-up and how comfortable it truly is. Beat my expectations and I had high expectations.5
It broke in halfsadly_disappointedI bought this bed almost 2 years ago. It started to break apart by the unions in the pieces that came assembled from the factory. I could not believe this morning when I woke up, heard a horrible sound and all of the sudden the lower part of the bed was on the floor. I panic and I just though my cat was most likely under the bed. Fortunately it was not the case. I understand that the price they offer the beds is crazy cheap, but it's hard to understand how they miss all this security checks. I totally regret that I recently bought the matching nightstands, and off course after almost 2 years there's no warranty for this product. Spare your money and get a solid wooden bed, not cheap but it would not probably break that easily.1
Beautiful - loudRhi13I love the look of this bed! It’s gorgeous. However I have had it 3 days. It is SO loud. So squeaky I do not understand why. We were very careful putting it together (which was a breeze by the way!) but every time we move in and out it squeaks and creaks like it’s about to break. It’s very solid at least but it’s unfortunate that a $400 (king) frame is so unpleasant to get in and out of.3
Headboard top railingHeadboard issueI bought about a month ago. While putting together the top rail has bubbles where the holes are located for the dowels. That is disappointing and curious if we can get a new top rail to the headboard.3
Loud, Squeaky and AnnoyingTylerSHad this bed for 3 or 4 years now, and ive had to tighten all the screws nearly every month to try and stop it from squeaking. In all my years, I have not had a bed the squeaked THIS much. Regular tossing and turning producing such loud squeaks that it wakes up my partner. Totally unexceptionable even after 3 or 4 years. I have laid tape on the metal, used lock tight on the screws, felt pads, electric tape, everything only lasts a few weeks before it starts squeaking again. Unfortunately, I was told at my local store a while back that there isn't anything they can do and that I would have to try to find a fix on my own.amazing service from such a world wide brand. Hoping to get a reply back from Ikea Support on this matter.2
Beautiful but horribly madeNottohappyI own all Hemnes Furniture and unfortunately they are all poorly made. This bed is so squeaky when my partner moves at night it wakes me up. In addition it has been falling apart since I bought it. I have used wood glue multiple times to keep the material based board together but it keeps falling apart. The material also warped as well over time. I would not recommend buying.1
Love the set but disappointed in my bedIkeaGal from HamiltonI got several pieces of Hemnes bedroom furniture for my bedroom a little over a year ago, and one side of the footboard has separated from the frame and is now resting on the separately-purchased storage drawers underneath. I’ve tried twice to fix it and it won’t budge. I’m pretty disappointed that the quality is so poor!2
Poor Quality & Poor DesignTori PDO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT We purchased the king size Hemnes in white in April 2018 - over time the foot board (that comes pre-assembled from IKEA) started to develop gaps that became larger and larger eventually culminating with the foot board completely breaking apart and us landing on the floor in the middle of the night. This is completely unacceptable and evidently a VERY common issue based on other reviews listed here.1
Squeaky and noisy from day one - eventually brokeBrothers split by secretsWe updated our bedroom with the Hemnes series bed, dresser and nightstands. Unfortunately, the first order delivery damaged the footboard. The packaging did not protect the bed. IKEA sent a replacement bed, and again it was damaged in transport. The third one was sent out with special bubble wrap on the box. At this point it was after 2 months of renovating the bedroom, and we just wanted to be done with it. The footboard had a small crack in it, but we decided not to send it back. Once we assembled the bed according to the instructions, it squeaked every time someone got in or out of the bed. It squeaked and creaked anytime we rolled over or moved in our sleep. Finally, last week the bed gave out and the small crack in the footboard split, and the entire base of the bed broke. It only had some wood glue and dowels to keep it together, and wasn't made of wood, but wood fiber.1
Cute but fragileAmp0529I was super happy when I bought this, but then a year later the frame completely broke off the left side of head board. Extremely disappointed as I did really enjoy it prior, and it broke out of no where. I am extremely careful and gentle on my furniture.2
Excellent Bed FramecarliesoaresHave had this bed frame for almost 2 weeks and I love it! I was skeptical because of the reviews but I'm so happy I got it. It makes very minimal noise and had a good solid structure. Would highly recommend to anyone!5
Nice looking bed~but VERY squeaky and creaky...Erin83We bought this bed close to 5 years ago... Not sure why I haven't posted a review until now. We cannot move around in our bed without it creaking and squeaking A LOT, to the point of waking the other up! This started about a year after we purchased. My parents also purchased this bed for their holiday home and it is NOT like ours. It is quiet!! Not sure what we can do to fix the creaks & squeaks, we have tried tightening screws, adjusting the bar etc and nothing has helped.3
heartbrokenframelessI purchased the entire HEMNES bedroom last April, the bed has always creaked until today, today the foot board gave out! Is there some sort of warranty on this? And why is there not legs to support the middle of the KING size frame?1
Pretty butliam123This bed frame is beautiful but was difficult to assemble with two people, I would say three are needed.2
GarbageWaste of my moneyThis was honestly a waste of my money !!! I’ve had this for 2 months the board it at the bottom of the bed it keeps falling out even if I said it will fall and I’m literally 110 pounds crazy ......!!!! Waste of my money i will be buying a box spring hopefully it doesn’t fall unbelievable1
Not made to lastIKEAinYYZPerhaps my product was a one-off instance, but I got this bed frame just less than a year ago and it really was a promising bed frame when I first purchased it. After a few months of use, the footboard collapsed and broke into pieces. I had to try and glue the pieces back together and also re-adjusted the height of the platform as a way to prevent the footboard from breaking apart again. Even with the modifications, I am unsuccessful and am left with a bed frame that's quite literally and figuratively, on its last legs. Of all the IKEA products I have purchased, this is by far the most disappointing. I am quite hesitant on whether or not to purchase another bed frame from IKEA after this experience...1
So beautiful but so cheapSoophiePI bought mine less than a year ago, and during the night BOOM, the front part of the base decided to seperate from the rest... it was our first king size bed from ikea and was the last. We had to put something to support the bed to end the night but I didn’t sleep the rest of the night thinking It would fell appart during my sleep. Oh what a mistake!2
Squeak, squeak...Eva KzI bought the king size bed frame about a month ago. I read some reviews before my purchase and most of them were positive and not much was mentioned about any squeaking. We assembled the bed, put a new mattress (from IKEA as well) on and waited patiently for the mattress to open up/inflate as it was the rolled up one. 3 days later we went to sleep and.... the squeaking has begun! It is unreal. I can't move on my bed. My husband can't sleep. I tried to tell myself that the slats at the bottom have to straighten out but it has been few weeks and it is not improving.... I am not sure what to do. I don't think its the frame but the slats. This is our first king size bed and so far it has not been the greatest experience.2
