The particle filter is optimized to filter away approximately 99.5 percent of smaller airborne particles such as PM2.5 particles, dust and pollen.
PM2.5 are small inhalable particles, that measure 0.1-2.5 micrometres.
The particle filter is tested according to EN 1822-1 and ISO 29463-3 which corresponds to class EPA12.

good filter but a little vagueDarrenGood enough filter but I found the description and sizes a little confusing when trying to find the one I needed. I think there was confusion in the colouring as well. one showed black, others white. plus 2 different fans .

Great but wish there was a higher filtration option KatelynThis works great for smoke and polluted air, but not as well for my cat allergies :(. Cal allergens are super small (smaller than smoke) and I’ve noticed that these filters don’t do the job as well as I’d like, so I still have to have another air purifier running. I love that you can mount the units on the wall so I’d love to have some higher powered filters! Please consider this IKEA!

Fortnuftig air filterAnneThe building across from us in our apartment complex was severely damaged by fire, requiring 2 YEARS of daily renovation. The allergens throughout this time were prolific, and my health began to suffer. We bought 2 of the Fortnuftig air purifiers, and noticed an immediate improvement. We have been using them ever since, and would recommend them.
Excellent value filterGregoryVery good results for a low price. Very happy I chose IKEA air filters instead of large round HEPA filters from other brands that take up more space in storage and shipping in addition to costing much more. Results in home are good: typically our PM2.5 is zero.

Filter.DonnaI change the filter once a month. I’m shocked at the amount of dust it catches considering my house is fairly clean. It makes me feel better to know it’s in the filter and that I’m not breathing it all in.

IKEA air cleanerKarenGreat product, and when it’s on low you don’t hear it at all. Great unobtrusive design, and can be hung in a walk like art. Liked it so much that I bought a second one!
Finally in stockGraemeWorks great and the unit tells me when the filter needs replacing. My biggest concern is the long term availability of this item. I managed to pick a couple up recently, but the two trips to the store before that, the filters were out of stock. Also the main unit was no longer displayed in a prominent place which concerns me that it's being phased out for some reason....lets hope not or I will be very disappointed.
