Are your products tested for fire protection?
All IKEA products are tested and approved according to current regulations and standards.
IKEA products are built-in with fire protection; by choosing the right material for the product, by the design of the product, by good production control and by testing the products. Accordingly, the more natural the material, the more resistant it is and in turn, creates a physical barrier. We normally use a cotton blend in our ticking.
To ensure safety, a cigarette test is conducted on our products. The test consists of 2 unfiltered cigarettes being placed on the sleeping surface. After the cigarette burns out, the length of the burn mark on the ticking is then measured. If it is longer than 5cm, it fails. The reason we pass the test is because of the cotton blend in our ticking.
