Wall accents put the finishing touch on any room

If you’ve ever found yourself staring at your living room, dining room or bedroom wall and thinking that something is missing, wall accents may be just the answer! While our modern wall accents can be hung on their own, many people choose to incorporate them amongst other wall art and wall decor to tie everything together for a unique and cohesive look.

Tired of bare walls but aren’t sure where to begin? We have some ideas to kickstart your creativity:

• Start with a functional item. If you have completely bare walls to begin with, we find it's helpful to start with a wall accent that also serves a practical purpose, such as a decorative mirror. As you grow in your decorating journey there will be plenty of space to fill in with purely decorative pieces.
• Use existing pieces as your starting point. If you already have an item hanging in the room and you like its location, consider branching out from there. For example, let’s assume you have a poster or piece of large wall art that you love hanging above your sofa. Browse our wall accents to see which would coordinate well with that piece. To start with, you can consider adding one accent on either side of the larger piece, or opt for a unique, asymmetrical look.
• Draw up a decorating plan from the start. If you’d rather dive right in and design your dream wall from the beginning, get out the paper and pen! Consider all the different wall decor you’d like to include, and make a sketch of where everything will go. Once you know exactly which wall accents, picture frames, artwork and more you’ll need, set aside a Saturday afternoon for shopping and hanging and make it a reality!
