What is the procedure for a 6% VAT refund when buying an IKEA kitchen or bathroom?
If you have purchased a kitchen, bathroom or furniture installed and anchored in the wall by IKEA, in a home that is 10 years old or more, you are entitled to VAT at 6% instead of 21%.
When you make the purchase, you pay for your order (items and service fees) at 21% VAT. Approximately eight weeks after receiving your completed form, we will refund the difference to the account number provided.
Please note: the VAT reduction applies to the items (with the exception of freestanding and loose kitchen furniture, appliances and accessories) and to the price of installation (not to the delivery costs).
For any additional work, which you pay directly to the installer, you pay the rate applicable to your home.
