Do I need to oil and sand my wooden benchtop?
To ensure that your solid wood benchtop ages gracefully, treat it regularly with STOCKARYD wood treatment oil; it gives the surface a beautiful sheen, protects the wood and prolongs the life of the worktop.
STOCKARYD wood treatment oil is highly recommended for maintaining the life of your solid wood benchtop. The oil penetrates deep into the wood to enhance the feel and water resistance, while maintaining a shiny finish. It becomes touch-dry and water repellent 4-6 hours after application.
The 12-month storage life once opened and 36-month storage life if still factory sealed enures you can use it throughout the year when needed. Only used for wooden worktops used indoors.
Not oiling the worktop can result in bowing. It should be oiled a minimum of 5 times a year. Refer to your worktop care instructions for more information.
You can sand your worktops with grit paper or an equivalent to help remove any imperfections.
