Does IKEA offer assembly services and what is the cost?

IKEA offers assembly services with professional service partners in areas across Australia, to make your everyday life at home easier. Assembly call out fee starts at $40. The cost to Assemble your product is calculated on the expected time it takes a professional to assemble your product. The Package removal service can be added for $15.

Assembling IKEA products can be fun and rewarding, but sometimes time and energy are limited. That’s why IKEA offers a convenient and affordable assembly service through trusted external partners.  
Our assembly partners can put together IKEA furniture and accessories that require assembly or fixing to become functional, making it easy to save time at an affordable price. Assembly call out fee starts at $40. The cost to Assemble your product is calculated on the expected time it takes a professional to assemble your product. You will be charged a professional assembly rate based on the products you want assembled, and the final cost will be calculated during checkout. 
If the instructions advise that the product needs to be attached to the wall for safety reasons, our assembly partners must attach the product to the wall. Our assembly partners will secure items to the wall at no additional cost, but please note that the service excludes electrical and plumbing. 
IKEA also offers a separate packaging removal service that can be booked in conjunction with an assembly service for $15. When requested, our service providers will remove all packaging at the conclusion of your assembly and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.  
If needed, you can request additional services such as removing skirting boards/cornices, adding structures for wall mounting, cutting holes to allow cabling and levelling floors. If boxes need to be moved to the room for assembly, this is also considered an additional service. Additional costs for all additional services apply. These are paid directly to the service provider. 
You can book and pay for an Assembly Service in store, online during your checkout process, or at a later stage through IKEA Customer Service. Please note that if you would like to add a package removal service, it must be booked in conjunction with an Assembly Service by a co-worker in store or through IKEA customer service. 
Please note, certain products, like kitchen cabinetry, appliances, or bathrooms, must be installed by licensed professionals and are not included in this assembly service. You can learn more about kitchen installation here.
