Love This Couch!BrittanyWe are old loyal fans of the Ektorp series and made the mistake long ago of selling our Ektorp. We've bought and returned multiple couches from other major retailers in the time since. Nothing had been right, so we turned back to IKEA. I was a little nervous because some of the Uppland reviews aren't great, but I'm so very glad we did it. We're finally happy, finally comfortable in our living room. Assembly was pretty fast and easy with two people. The hardest part is getting the cushion covers on! We are so impressed at the quality and how well everything fit. Yes, the cushions are big and take a little breaking in so they're a tight fit at first, but they break in nicely even just in a month. I couldn't be happier with our purchase of sectional and ottoman. 5
NOT Worth The MoneyEricaThis couch is not comfortable, it is very stiff. Additionally, one of the back cushions didn't expand all the way leaving unsightly gaps. In order to return we would need to completely disassemble, re-package, and pay $39 to have them come pick it back up. We spent over $1500 on this sectional and they didn't even offer to replace the back cushions that didn't expand all the way... we are so disappointed. No one wants to sit on it and we're out over $1500.2
Low quality and not very comfortableElizabethThis couch feels very comfortable and fancy in the show room. But when it arrives you see it's made out of low quality materials. The seam is coming apart on one cushion after 3 days, stuffing is coming out. The back cushions have fully inflated, but they aren't as sturdy as they felt in the showroom. The back cushions don't have a zipper, so you can't add stuffing. I would return this, but it's honestly too much effort. When buying the 3 piece sectional + ottoman + covers + shipping, it's really not a budget couch, and I had expected higher quality. I wouldn't recommend it. 2
Great sectional!SaraWe replaced our old Ektorp sectional (that was over 15 years old) with this Uppland sectional and we love it! It is an even better version with thick, comfortable (perfect combination of firm and soft) cushions. I can’t imagine owning a sofa without slipcovers! Thanks, IKEA, for making quality, affordable products!5
So uncomfortable and stiff MichelleThis is the worst IKEA sofa we have ever owned. I had a Kivik twice for over ten years and loved it. The Kivik is firm but so comfortable. You can even sleep on it but this has my body so incredibly Sore. Unfortunately we are stuck with it because how am I going to have time to take it apart and take it all the way back to the store. Lesson learned. I purchased it for a family room thinking we could have nice movie nights. I miss my pottery barn sofa and Kivik 1
It’s like sitting on a rock. Why is it advertised as “Extra soft”?Anonymous reviewerThis couch was recommended to me by my designer who had the Ektorp. I was really excited about it and it’s so disappointing. It is very firm. I was told this was very comfortable by my designer who had the Ektorp. I looked online and it’s also advertised as extra soft. I spent a whole weekend sitting on different couches at multiple stores, so I know the difference between firm and soft. Out of dozens of couches this has to be the top 3 most firm couches I have ever sat on. It is the exact opposite of “extra soft”.
It also makes a crinkly noise, like there’s plastic on top of the cushion.
I also washed the covers and let me tell you, getting those bad boys back on the cushions was a workout. I have burns/blisters on my fingers from apparently pulling and fighting the cushions to get the zipper on. It took 2 people. Time consuming and exhausting. Now I have to do all the work to return these. It’s false advertisement 100% and a lot of work to return such a big item. 1
Perfect for the loft areaJulie AHeavy use by grandkids. A great sitting area (with the coordinating chair) for games, TV, and occasionally for sleeping. The kids love this area. A real success and easy to maintain.5
HelpAdrianaI have the Ektop sectional will the Uppland cushion covers fir my Ektop sectional. Do you guys have anything that is slightly compatible. I don't need the actually slip just the cushion covers.....4
Excellent!ReginaI owned an Ektop set for 15 years. Loved it. I was hesitant to order the Uppland based upon the negative reviews. I'm glad I purchased it. Assembly was easy and couch is sturdy. The color and cover are beautiful and have no issues. The cushions are thick and comfortable. Hope this lasts as long as my old Ektorp, but we are loving this Uppland.5
Uppland dark blue sectionalDorothyThe uppland sectional by far is the best sofa I have ever owned! I owned the ektorp for years in white slip covers that washed up beautifully and was great to sleep on. I had a sofa and 2 chairs. Sold them after 6 years when I sold my home to move south.
The uppland is way more substantial, higher, deeper and even more comfortable. Two people can nap on this easily. I got the dark blue for a change and the color and slipcover is beautiful. The fabric is like what you would find on an upholster sofa. Spill something just wipe it off. I will probably the white slip cover for a change in the summer. I highly recommend this sofa! Oh and by the way I am 70 years old and put it together myself…easy peasy!

Comfortable, spaciousAnonymous reviewerLots of space to sit; comfortable to sit on5
Wanted this sectional for a long time!TheresaWe moved a few years ago and now have a bonus room we are calling our "coastal retreat". We did a mood board where this sectional is the main element. We've been visiting the sectional in the store for 2 years. We also watched this sectional almost double in price over the past 2 years. We saw it 2 times in the as-is-section at the store. The third time we bought it! We love this sectional for a number of reasons! 1. The slipcover is machine washable. 2. A new look can be achieved via additional slipcovers. 3. It fits our space. 4. It is extremely comfortable and holds up well to everyday use.5
I love it!StephanieI love it!5
We love our UPPLAND SECTIONAL!!KymberlieI wanted to wait until we had this sectional at least 6 months to review it because it's our first IKEA purchase. I was in search of a slipcovered sectional and this by far beat the price of ANY other I looked at. I wanted white, but Hallarp grey and hallarp beige were the only choices available at the time during the pandemic so we purchased the Hallarp Grey and we love it so much! It's deep, easy to clean ( we have two pups) ,and aesthetically pleasing! I have since purchased totebo beige covers for another look and will be purchasing white also so I can change during seasons. This is a practical and logical purchase and I am so glad I didn't spend what I initially planned on a down slipcovered couch! Buy it, you'll love it!5

Beautiful uppland sectionalDarlaLove this so much. Comfy and looks amazing.
Thankfully I was able to get it in white. Love the look so much. 10 🌟5
Amazing CouchAnonymous reviewerWe bought this couch because after lots of research it was dramatically less expensive than other slipcovered sofas. It is comfortable and a breeze to wash the covers. I am a larger person and I am comfortable on the couch. It looks gorgeous in the room.5
