Perfect for organizing my daughters toys VanessaNot sure why this has so many bad reviews. My husband built this in about 30 minutes so easy and looks so pretty! Loved everything about it.
Absolute garbageAnonymous reviewerI cannot believe Ikea has not fixed this issue yet, this 58 year old grandma has just spent all day trying to fix this storage unit. Why? because the bins drop down. Ikea knows there is an issue and all they can say is "You're welcome to visit our Returns Desk within 180 days of the purchase date, along with your receipt or order confirmation and a valid photo ID to exchange or return this TROFAST. We hope this helps" how does this help anyone when it's a 4 hour derive and we paid $39 for shipping. How about stop selling this garbage until you have fixed the problem. I just spent $30 on supplies to create a solution to this problem. Thin slats of wood screwed into the unit to stop the bins from falling. NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM THAT YOU ARE AWARE OF
It’s okayHaleighI bought 2 of these. They put together pretty easy. My complaint is the plastic bins get stuck when pulling out or pushing in. They clearly are too small for this wooden version. I bought some of the metal mesh bins and they pull in and out no problem. With how much it costs the plastic bins should work better.
Holes don’t alignKelseaAnother review for product with manufacturing error. We tried every orientation and the holes for the wooden dowels do not line up. I hoped it had been corrected because the last reviewer did not have an issue. Maybe we got one from the faulty batch? It’s not possible to assemble. Quite a disappointment.
A little rough. "Advanced" for ikea building KatrinThe finished product is nice-ish. The bottom boards end up very slightly off on the bottom on some corners so it's not perfect looking but it's sturdy. The construction is challenging though. Pine products at ikea generally are harder to screw together by hand. It just takes more force. Sometimes the boards will seperate more as you screw together and then come back together. These are very difficult to deal with. Asking you to make your own pilot holes and screw them in by hand is also really hard. Also keeping everything lined up at times is hard for a single person to do. I managed it but there were a lot of pauses to rest and reorienting and partially screwing things to make sure everything lined up and didn't screw before I really had to fight to get the screws in. I've done a lot of ikea. This one is hard.
Perfect!HilaryThese are great and relatively easy to put together. As another reviewer said, they have a designated left and right side. If they're switched than the holes dont line up. Once theyre on the correct side, they're perfect. I bought 2 of them and they have been perfect for our toddlers toys.
Not sure what all the fuss is about... ShawnIf you've ever assembled anything from IKEA before, this should be a simple assembly. I assembled two of these units in about 30 minutes. Surprised how sturdy it is considering how many wooded dowels are used (2/1 dowel to screw ratio). Pay attention to the grooves and dowel placement and assembly will be a breeze.
Holes don’t alignLaurenI should have listened to the previous reviews, but I had hoped IKEA would have addressed this issue by now. The holes don’t align, significantly. I’m extremely disappointed as returning the two I purchased will be a massive hassle and leave us without a furniture solution.
There is a right and wrong way to out this together MelanieI purchased 2 of these and the first one I put together the holes didn’t match up correctly until I realized the directions, though pictures are shown don’t emphasize that there is a top piece and bottom piece and a right and left side and if you don’t have the correct panel where it is supposed to go, the holes won’t match up. The second one Inout together went perfectly after making sure I had the correct piece designated in the right spot. The item panels should be labeled which I’m sure would take care of all the poor ratings.
The worst product I’ve ever purchased at IkeaSarahThey ruined this product. The holes to do not align. Impossible to build.
Holes Drilled Incorrectly. Dowels and screws do not fitMichaelHalf the reviews confirm this. Why hasn’t IKEA corrected this issue!? The holes are drilled incorrectly and none of the pieces fit together properly.
Not 5 star but okayJohnI had to shave one of the wood pegs to help align with the hole. Don't be afraid to use a little mussel and give it a good whack to put it together. I will say the tools in the kit are useless.
Not engineered rightTadThe holes on the side panels didn't line up with the bottom and top pieces. The pegs will not slide in. I had to pound them in in order for it to fit. The bottom 2 side rails sit at an angle instead of up and down which made it hard to align those also. Seeing the reviews, I'm not sure why Ikea hasn't fixed this problem yet.
Assembly is the worst!RaquelFirst time purchasing the trofast I was so excited to put it together, until we were assembling. It was the worst! Sliding in the side panels do not slide in correctly or easily. The peg sockets don’t align at all! It’s a pain
New bins MeghanI love the opaque look of the new white bins. Unfortunately they have discolored and it does not wipe off
An Absolute Favorite!AbigailWe love these for LEGOs, toddler clothes storage, and outdoor gear. Will keep returning for more when needed!
The new bins are a bummerSarahThe new bin material is a step down for sure. They are thin and a little too small for the tracks. So they keep falling down.
