issue with hanging on wallVictoria M.Purposely bought to hang as surface mount. However, the location of holes to mount on wall require opening up the wall completely in order to add new braces as location of holes do not match the location of studs. If I had known entire wall had to be opened up, I would have bought a recessed medicine cabinet. Information of required stud distance would have been helpful. Since I do not live close and made special trip to IKEA for this purchase, returning it is unworkable.2
Nice while it lastedALEX R.Really like the mirror, after 2 years the lights go out when the door closes, and now stopped working all together. Seems like a common problem with this product. Basically just an expensive mirror with no light now.2
Great mirror. Love itCarolGreat mirror. Love it5
Lighted Medicine CabinetLynn C.I absolutely love this. So much storage a d perfect lighting l!!5
Not my first time buying, not my lastShawnaMy husband and I have bought two different sizes and 4 of these over the years for different houses. Work great. Need 2 people to install since it’s pretty heavy. Replace dimmer switch for light or you will get a slight buzzing. One of the mirror doors was slightly bent but didn’t impact the design enough for me to personally replace.5
Not a sustainable productANTONELLAI bought this cabinet several years ago. There seems to be a short in the wiring now causing the lights to not work properly and replacements are unavailable. It is suggested to purchase a whole new cabinet just for the lights and transformer. I am not asking for the warranty to cover this problem and would be happy to purchase replacement parts. Disappointed that IKEA4
PerfectLittleBigJobCompleted the look I was going for - Modern and Clean. Great design. The lights illuminate a yellowish color about 3500k, the interior benefits nicely as well (from the lights). I recessed my cabinet because, I didn't want the projection over my sink area so, the result was perfectly flush with the wall. I placed a chandelier above it - absolutely amazing. Great buy, great find. You won't regret it.5
Absolutely exquisiteYourfriendhollyThis mirror is very modern & beautiful.5
We've had ours for a couple of years, it's perfectHaggisMy hubby easily put it together, he and our contractor installed it, the mirror cabinet is modern, roomy, doesn't stick out too far in our small bathroom, we get tons of compliments. It sounds like many DIY'ers and/or inept contractors don't understand the fundamentals involved with the wiring of this object. Honestly, we have had zero problems and have had this mirror cabinet for several years now. Would absolutely buy another one. Love how it lights up when the mirrored door is open. The one caveat? It does smudge as there is no handle to open the mirrored door. But it's not a big enough deal for something this great at this price point.5
Lots of space but bad wiringKevinWA contractor installed this mirror in our new bathroom remodel 11 moths ago. It is a beautiful cabinet with mirrors and priced very reasonable and we love the space. Now there is a short in the light wiring so when the door is opened the light turns off. BUTit is not something that can easily be replaced or troubleshoot. The design is not repair friendly with wires running behind the cabinet to the junction box. There is no way to really replace the wire/light arrangement to the junction box. The entire cabinet would have to be removed from the wall. And of course the contractor will charge to re-install the mirror. So that's not worth it. I don't even know if the lights are available. This could have been designed much better if wire system would have been kept inside the cabinet for access to the junction box. So basically the light is useless at this point until I determine if we want to change out the cabinet. Lucky we have recess lighting on another switch so we just don't use the cabinet light. It's very unfortunate because when the lights work they provide a very warm soft light in the area. My rating is based on the poor lighting design. The cabinet seems very well made and good quality.3
Light is yellow and huge gap between doorsShawn123Looks really ugly with yellow light which is not bright enough and the gap between two door after close can easily fit a finger. You can see the power brick inside easily.1
Not sufficient light for sink areaANTONELLAEnded up replacing this with a standard surface mounted mirrored medicine cabinet (Kohler) and vanity light. Cabinet is larger than expected. When mounting to ensure sufficient clearance above the faucet, there was no room left above the cabinet to mount another vanity light which is necessary. The light system is very warm (2700K) which they advertise but light that warm is rarely appropriate for a bathroom. Also, it is too dim to be the sole source of light over a sink. Since there won't be room above the cabinet with standard 8' ceilings, you'll need a light directly overhead or on either side of cabinet if you have room. Overall, average quality but I'd consider it pricey for what you get compared to similar products available.2
Lots of storageskempThis has been installed and looks great. The only issue I had is that the top of the mirror corner is cracked, so now I have to find out a way to remove the light from the door and return the door. There is no directions on had to remove the light once's its been placed.5
Wonderful CabinetVik156Problems with Lights could be easily prevented. Just cut cover for cable inside of mirror in half, so cable is not bending while opening and closing cabinet door in such a short radius and it will last forever.5
Storjorm with TradfriBangsimonI recently bought the Storjorm mirror cabinet and have now installed it. I am happy with it. However, I found out that the light strips are connected in series. I tried to install a Tradfri LED power supply instead of the one that came with the cabinet, because it would be very nice that the lights would turn on, simply upon entering the room. This did not work. When using the Tradfri LED power supply model ICPSHC24-10EU-IL-1 the lights were very bright and blinked. When I turned the dimmer down they stopped blinking but they emitted a tone, perhaps 700 Hz frequency that could easily be heard. I connected them in series. Both the Tradfri power supply and the one coming with the cabinet are 24 V. Is there an explanation for this behaviour, and is there a way to use these lights with Tradfri. This would be highly beneficial.4
ltc jThere are not enough registers that take cash. Of the 8 lines open at the time, only 1 took cash. Pick up also took over an hour.4
Tons of storageCyndiDI recently bought this to replace one that was 22 years old. It took us 4 hours to put together and install. That includes taking the old one off the wall. It didn't line up with the studs of course. We had to put a piece of wood on the wall into the studs to have something to attach the cabinet to. The lighting isn't enough for my bathroom. I don't have any other lighting in the room except for over my shower, so its just not enough light. I do love all the storage it has, and it updated my bathroom. I'm going to buy another one for the other bathroom, but it has a skylight in it.4

Problem with lights otherwise greatPublicangeWe bought this cabinet for our bathroom over 2 years ago and love it. Other posters complaint there was no way to turn the lights off, we set ours up on a switch. Unfortunately the lights stopped working after a year and a half and there is no way to replace just the lights. We had bring the whole cabinet in and received a new one in exchange. This required taking down the whole cabinet and reassembling a new one, remounting and rewiring. Hopefully they come up with a simpler way to replace the led lights because we love the cabinet otherwise but I'm not sure we will go through that again.3
Beautiful feature.CustThis medicine cabinet is so modern. It really makes a statement in my small space. I love the LED sidelights. Highly recommend this. I had it professionally installed and the contractor put an extra few screws as it is very heavy.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is mirror glass?

Mirror glass is made of mostly of ordinary glass with a reflective coating in some kind of metal. In the past it was common for the coating to contain lead or mercury – but over time, both of these metals have been shown to be harmful to people and the environment. That’s why, as of several years ago, IKEA has a total ban on using lead or mercury in our mirrors and instead it is non-toxic silver or aluminium that reflects your mirror image.
