PRAKTLYSING Cellular blind w hub kit, white, 34x76 3/4 ChukwuomaExcellent Smart Shade. Easy to Install and configure. Not as opaque as I thought based on the Online description. Looks nice nonetheless!5
Good blinds, simple setupJohanI have had 1 of these blinds for 6-8 months for a hard-to-reach window; recently, I have added two more. The battery lasts for several months. I initially used the remote and repeater included in the package, but I recommend buying a DIRIGERA hub. It allowed us to set up a sunrise/sunset scene to open and close blinds automatically.
The included clips make the blinds stand ~1/2" from the window frame; I had to trim mine for a snug fit. 5
DefectiveBrianThese break after 6 months use. Avoid!1
affordable motorized blind looks and works greatScotteasy to add to and works great with dirigera hub.5
Broken after 7 months - fatal design flawBenjaminSimilar to the experiences of others, the string used to raise/lower the blind broke after 7 months of twice daily use - just out of the return window. The blind style is current unavailable, so I have to look into replacing all of my blinds with a different vendor/style rather than just one blind. Avoid, if they’re ever back in stock!1
The remote takes a round lithium 2032 battery, not includedHeatherI could not find this information ANYWHERE and if it weren’t for the kid at Target who watched an assembly video and zoomed in on the battery, I would never have gotten it right. So here is the information. Size 2032! 4
Looks great with a good priceLisaNice looking and great that it was the size I needed. Good price, even though I didn't need the motorized function, it is nice to have.5
wireless control malfunction bothJeongwireless remote on and off, now not working1
Great quality and modern look!YamileThey look very nice, I have privacy, easy to clean and since they are motorized they are very comfortable.5
Affordable and reliable JuanVery quiet and reliable. The wifi connectivity always works and the price is unbeatable 5
Excellent ProductJonathanI love smart home stuff, especially smart home stuff that is compatible with HomeKit. These blinds are great, one of my favorite smart home items.5
Great light filtering and light weight shadesVishalThis fit so well, and was very easy to install - just need the right type of screws and it’s very light weight even with batteries installed. It’s been a week and I use it daily to open and close, still the charge is holding well. Definitely worthwhile over other expensive products on Amazon, Costco and Home Depot!4
Great value works with SmartthingsMattFor the price you can't beat these motorized smart shades. They work with Zigbee protocol and as such I was able to easily pair them with my Samsung Smartthings hub for home automation. Instructions to do that are not included but you can search online and find out how to do it. Super easy to install. They have an internal battery that you have to take out and charge every 4 - 6 months, depending on how often you use it. For motorized cellular shades these are the best value in the market.5
Quality product at an affordable priceEdI purchased 3 of these shades to operate in unison with the remote and through automation. They were easy to install and the build quality and design are great. I love how they look.
Now a few things you should know if you plan to use this with the Dirigera hub. The instructions don't cover this! Don't pair the included remote with the blinds. Instead, download the IKEA home app and set up the Dirigera hub. Follow the instructions in the app to add the shades. Once you have that working, then add the remote *to the app*. If you don't do this, there's no way to control your blinds with the app *and* the remote.
Also, one of my three remotes would “stick” half the time. That is, it wouldn't release after a press, so the shades would stop. Thankfully, I had extra remotes. This seems to be a design flaw with the remote control.
Despite the unclear setup instructions, I still think this is a great product for the price.4
Good and not-so-goodJamesOrdered two blinds - one was defective right out of the box. Physical setup of the other one was extremely easy and quick, BUT there were no screws provided (!!!) and no remote battery. It's unfortunate that I have to spend an additional $70 for a hub solely for these blinds just so they'll integrate w/ Alexa (which worked well). DOCUMENTATION STINKS - IKEA thinks it's cool to have simple pictures, but if you have more detailed questions or need more specific info, you're SOL (I shouldn't have to contact customer service for basic facts). For example, I came to the conclusion that the repeater isn't needed, but good luck finding THAT info anywhere readily. Also, from a review here, I get the impression that one can calibrate how high and low it goes - good luck trying to find any info anywhere on that! Instead of 5-6 little pieces of paper with simplistic images and notices in 30 different languages, how about some substantial printed information?4
Really great valueAbhishekLove these shades. Just put in 8 of them and put them on automated sequences. You do need the IKEA home app, but once setup they're accessible via Google and Apple. The supplied remotes are a bit kludgy so I didn't bother trying after failing with the first one. I just use the voice control and if necessary the physical buttons on the blinds (which you will need to use to calibrate the height). Overall great purchase - I will they would stop supplying a repeater and a remote with each package OR create new packaging of 4 blinds with 1 remote + 1 repeaters - I have 7 repeaters and 8 remotes that are just sitting around.5
Good product with wrong/frustrating instructionsDavidPhysical installation was easy and the spring-loaded clips are nice.
The size is not perfect - the blind is about 3 inches shorter than the opening, but does cover the window glass and gives privacy.
Where I had issues was getting both the Smart Home App (with Dirigera hub) and included remote control to both work at the same time.
The instructions stated the remote was already paired upon delivery. But every time I paired the blind with the app, the remote lost connection. Then I would pair the remote and it would remove the blind from the app.
Finally, I realized that I had to add both the blind and the remote as separate devices. Then the app let me link them.
From there, it was straight-forward. Connection to Alexa was easy and I quickly added to my routines.
So far, I like the blind and the limited size tradeoff is worth the lower cost compared to other solution. I am hoping this one works out and then I will add several more in other rooms.5
The blinds are perfect exceptMichaelThe blinds are perfect except that the smart home integration is inconsistent when using Apple HomeKit. They will randomly stop responding to the Apple Home app after working correctly using wifi but later losing control when outside of the home WiFi network. This has required uninstalling and reinstalling the blinds a couple of times now.4
