Big enough for 2ThomasThe cover is washable and can be replaced if necessary 🤩5
Horrible FutonLisaThe worst futon we have ever bought. We bought 3 of them and all broke in less than a year. The legs all bent and broke and the slats also broke. Do not recommend. This is the worst futon ever. Unless Ikea brings back their older model, we are never buying anything from Ikea ever again. To bad I can't give it zero stars. 1
Frame is a piece of JUNKBrianHad it under 90 days and one of the legs is BENT. Also it's now nearly impossible to make it flat. The sliding mechanisms no longer work, so it won't unfold from the upright position no matter how much I try to force it. I'm going to look for my receipt and return this PIECE OF JUNK!! All the users saying they miss the older Ikea futon frames I agree with 100%. They used to make good frames. Not so with this PIECE OF JUNK! 1
TERRIBLY uncomfortable!BrianFirst, it took me nearly two hours to put the frame together. And I've been buying Ikea furniture for years. Finally I was able to slide the mattress on - I got the more expensive spring mattress - only to discover that it's impossible to lie flat on the futon, because of the curvature of the slats. When lying on my back, the slats force my spine to curve awkwardly, making my stomach protrude upward. It's SO UNCOMFORTABLE. Given that I sleep 75% on my back, this is not ok. I used the mattress by itself on the floor for a week first, and love the mattress, it's quite comfortable by itself. It's using it with the frame that's the issue. Extremely disappointed with this, I plan to return everything. I need a bed that's flat NOT CURVED.

Junk. Byer bewareDavidI should have read the reviews before purchasing. Several of the plastic pieces that hold the wood slat have broken under normal use. For the price we paid for this futon, this shouldn't be an issue. The question is will IKEA back their product and help me with new parts. 1
Low quality productAnonymous reviewerWe bought this futon sofa bed less than two years ago, just found out that multiple slats are coming off because the plastic casings holding them are broken. 1
Waste of moneyJoseThis bed is all broken, half of the wooden slats are off and the plastic that holds it is broken, I don’t have a car so bringing it to store for return will cost me half of the cost of the bed. 1
Low quality and broken slatsSyedaThe bed is drooping off on the edges, multiple slats have fallen out. It’s embarrassing because I bought this for our guests and its barely used. The guests complain about the broken slats. After reading what everyone wrote here, it seems like I am not the only one going through this and the quality and workmanship is actually bad2
slats are uselessMonicaThe slats are very weak and they break making the button useless. I bought 2 and both broke just from sitting and we are normal weight individuals 180 lbs and 140lbs 1
Frame with a design flawAdrianI liked the idea of conversion but this sleeper sofa has a faulty design around the slats. I would not buy it again as it did not last even two years. The plastic holders for the slats got damaged, the slats themselves are too weak.3
Bring back old futonMladenLong time ago I bought futon from Ikea and it was best futon ever. This one is horrible. 1
Frame has a design flaw that makes this bed not durable.Jung-HyunWe bought our Nyhamn in november of 2022. It was set up in its couch form in my home office and used as a bed over two holiday seasons. So not heavily used at all, sometimes not even sat upon for a few weeks at a time. We were recently shifting some furnitures around and when we removed the mattress to disassemble h the is couch for the move, we discovered that the plastic pieces holding each wooden slat in place had ripped free from the metal framing. So some of the wooden slats were able to freely shift or fall out of the frame. Based on what I can tell, those plastic holders are simply not strong enough to hold the slats especially when weight is put on the slats. We liked the ease of conversion and sturdiness of the overall construction, but that small faulty part of design makes this couch not durable. Thankfully I was able to explain the situation and return the couch under the warranty, but am leaving this review in hopes that ikea would amend the issue.2
Can you bring back the 2001 version, please?OlesaI am STILL using the version I bought in 2001, I have replaced several slats and the cover. Now, after 23 years the metal part is giving in. I tried the new one at the store, and it seems flimsy - the legs, that is. The solid round metal legs were (still are!) good. It was a perfect thing, please, bring it back. 2
Terrible ProductAidanI feel like I've been robbed of my money! The wooden slats have broken within 1 month of owning this couch and now sags to the floor. Worst use of money ever, DO NOT BUY!!1
Not good at allEvgeniiThe fastening of the wooden springs broke after six months. Ikea refuses to change them. The pieces of wood are now falling to the floor and the mattress is sagging.1
Poor design in key areas!ScottThis sofa failed in a little over a year of light to moderate use. Wooden slats that support the seat (bottom) are held in place by two thin plastic housings along the front and back. First, a slat broke from simply sitting on it, then the plastic housings that hold the slats broke causing two more slats to fall out and create a deep depression where the slats should be. The sofa is designed so that it is angled forward towards the floor; you constantly feel like you are going to slide off the sofa. The mattress is uncomfortable as both a bed and a sofa, and the seat cushion is so deep that it makes it almost impossible to sit with your legs touching the floor and your back supported simultaneously without several throw pillows. We did try, and purchase, this in the store for a college apartment and we thought it met the requirements for durability and comfort, but it has not met our expectations and is now a large unused obstruction in the apartment.1
Low quality ElisabethOne slat broke right away. Now two more have broken so this can no longer be used. Sad. It has a "10 year warranty" but i can't find any other information about what is included. 1
Not comfortable JialinNo back support. Not comfortable at all 3
Bedframe broke within a yearKarimSeveral of the cheap plastic pieces that hold the wooden slats in place broke within a year of purchase. Surprisingly bad build construction from Ikea.1
Brimg Back the Old One!AnonymousI bought one of these in 2008 or 2009 and it was of excellent quality. Nothing was loose, no slats broke.
The frame was incredibly strong and worked flawlessly.
The heavy, thick, quilted chenille cover (the part that slipped over the back like a pillowcase zipped/unzippered from the part that covered the seat area) was of excellent quality.
You had a choice of mattress firmnesses - although I chose the less-expensive firmer one and was happy with it.
I moved six times and there was never an issue with it. Finally I gifted it to a family member who is still using it and it is in great condition!
I cannot understand why the quality of this product has degraded so much - except the usual plan of degrading the quality of the products to increase profits??
This item used to be flawless and needed no improvements.
What a terrible disappoinment!! Bring the old one back! People will love it and will pay more for it.1
