Stiudy and Easy to AssembleWilliamI'm very impressed with how easy this was to assemble. You do need some clear space because it is large. It's also very sturdy, seems high quality. Great for storage of various odd items.
Doors won't attach, and I can't use itEmilyI LOVED this item in the show room, but I have spent HOURS and HOURS in the past 4 days just trying to get the doors to "click" on. I'm actually no longer convinced they actually attach. I can't get the drawers in properly either. I have to remove them all the way out from the frame if I want to use them. Takes 10 min to get them back on on the way without being crooked. Honestly , this is tedious and enbormously frustrating. I'm considering just junking it at this point. I am usually excellent at putting these together.
CabinetLeannThis cabinet was well made and attractive….however the door latches were very tricky to install. One needs to line up and click the front of the latch before the back or it will get stuck in place. Ikea was very helpful in getting the replacement latch part that I needed though to complete the project.
Great product RobertLove the quality and function of this piece. Of course the IKEA instructions lack the specificity necessary to assemble it without error.

DO NOT BUY if you are looking for a file cabinetLauraEven though when you search on the Ikea website for "file cabinet" this item comes up, and this item clearly resembles a file cabinet and has two file cabinet drawers, it is NOT a file cabinet. Further, it is not true that you can buy additional hardware to retrofit this to be a file cabinet. It takes a long time to assemble as well. It's been a very disappointing experience.
Surprisingly, this is really high quality!PaulaWe bought this cabinet for our entry by the door. Our frequently-used shoes are stored on the shelves and our reusable grocery bags in the lower drawers to grab on our way out. We were both very surprised at how sturdy the build is. It's very solid and well-designed. Be sure to follow the instructions closely when putting it together. I had to redo a few steps myself.
no way to hanging foldersBiaohuaThere are no bars to use hanging folders in the bottom 2 drawers, and there's no way to mode it to do it eaither. IKEA actually fixed this flaw in the smaller IDASEN filing cabinet models they sell, so you can hang a bar on the side so that it fits US size hanging folders but this doesn't seem possible for this larger cabinet. It's the only flaw but it's a MAJOR one imho. I would give it 3.5/5 stars if possible.
Great storage cabinetNadineI bought this along with the Idasen tall locker for my study. They are good heavy duty metal and my partner was able to assemble it for me. He said that the key is to go slow and follow the directions. He uses a sorter tray to keep screws and parts separated
Love the cabinet, but for the price, Ikea could have done better. AnonymousI love the look of this cabinet, but it has some issues.
First off, this cabinet is quite expensive for Ikea. I think this may be because Ikea markets this as office furniture.
For this price, the cabinet should be a heavier gauge of steel. Considering the quality of the hinges and the drawer glides, this is a pretty nice piece of furniture, and the thin metal is really a letdown.
The thin metal, combined with the way this cabinet is assembled, make it really susceptible to racking. This brings me to my biggest gripe- No adjustable feet! The Fabrikor I bought years ago has them, and they are really necessary for a cabinet like this that will go out of square on less-than-perfect floors. In my case, I spent about an hour tweaking the hinges to get everything perfectly aligned. Then I moved the cabinet to its final location and everything was off again.
Assembly is complicated. One tip I will offer- when you get to the step where you insert the legs, make SURE they are full seated.
Awesome cabinetMarjorieI have a cabinet like this but in a different color. I have used it in the business for almost four years and it looks great. I just need to find replacement metal filing rails for it.
Looks cute but need file insertsAnnieLove how this cabinet looks! I got it to replace my junky old filing cabinet. After reading reviews, I was made aware it doesn’t come with file inserts… I decided to buy it anyway thinking it would be easy to find a hanging file insert that fits in the drawers but of course the drawer size is slightly smaller that your standard hanging file insert. Has any one bad luck finding an insert that works for these drawers?!
Otherwise, it is a great piece. Took me about 3 hours to put it together, needed some assistance hanging the doors but it wasn’t too bad really.
Hard to put togetherZachTook me almost 4 hours to pith this together. There are no written instructions just pictures. Nothing is labeled beyond a key in the front of the manual. It looks great and works great the set up is just a lot of work.
Nice cabinet but difficult assemblyBarbaraThis cabinet is difficult to assemble. lots of parts and no numbers on the parts like other Ikea items I have purchased. Love the cabinet but would suggest having Ikea assemble when purchased. Must have patience

Would purchase anotherAllisonCabinet looks great, the build was easier then expected after reading the reviews of others. Few things to remember with the drawers: put these together while sitting at a table for a flat surface, ensure all the pieces are properly aligned before bending the metal tabs, and there are two drawer fronts so the second one will have the square opening on the other side. All the screws should find their proper homes. Don’t over think inserting the drawers into the cabinet, just push them in and feel it sink into place. Hanging the doors was trickier then the drawer builds for me. The hinges snap into place once aligned.
If you have built metal Ikea cabinets before, the instructions have a similar feel. Most frustrating part was getting the doors to align properly while sitting on carpeted floors. I blame the floors.
Yes, as others have stated you would need something to hang files with placed inside the drawers. The space could accommodate a holder.
