Beautiful cabinet, but the hinges tested my will to liveHollyThis cabinet is absolutely beautiful once assembled. The dark green color is gorgeous, feels sturdy, and I’m very happy with how it looks in my office.
That said, assembly was much more frustrating than it needed to be. The hinges were by far the worst part. The instructions have you screw the hinges into the cabinet fairly early in the process, but if I were assembling another one, I would attach the hinge pieces together on the doors first, then position the doors and screw the hinges into the cabinet. Trying to connect the hinge pieces after they were already installed was unnecessarily difficult.
The screw holes behind the drawers seemed too small for the included screws. I recommend starting to screw it in by itself first. A few of the screw heads started to strip in the process.
5 stars for the finished product, considerablable fewer stars for the experience of getting there.
Love this cabinet so muchLisaThis cabinet is solid. The doors and drawers close quietly. It is deep enough to really hold things, and the shelves are adjustable. I'm a pretty small single woman and I put it together over two days, mostly because I had the time and didn't feel like getting flustered. Even with a bent corner (that I was able to straighten), I had no problems assembling it. I did have a large blanket to lay the pieces out on, and do recommend that.
I'm seriously considering getting another one.
Beautiful cabinet; assembly is a nightmareChenDefinitely a beautiful accent piece in any space and has a ton of storage. Assembly is unreasonably complicated. Screws are bad quality and easy to strip. Cabinet doors take forever to put align.
Beautiful cabinetIsabellaGreen is on trend! We are using this to store garden items. We are positioning it next to our shed and building a little bespoke overhang above it to keep the rain off. Will leave room to put clay pots on top.

Love the cabinet. Building was miserableRoseExtremely happy with the cabinet. I purchased it for medical supply storage and it works perfectly. I’m always prepared that an IKEA build will be challenging but this thing tested me. It is infuriating. The metal tabs instead of screws for the drawers are absurd. The instructions leave out key information leaving you to trial and error. This is not a one person job but work with someone you like bc this thing will bring out the worst in you.
Excellent finish. Easy assembly if you’re used to IkeaJasonMany reviews have pointed out how difficult this cabinet is to assemble. I’m very happy that I did not let these reviews deter me. The piece is beautiful with a very nice matte green finish. While I will admit this cabinet assembly is slightly more complex than some of IKEA’s other items, if you have ever built Lego bricks as a child or constructed anything based on instructions it’s fairly straightforward. You just have to stay organized. Separate all your screws into different piles at the very beginning, double check you are using the right ones before placing them, and given that you are essentially working with sheet metal, do not over tighten the screws as this has potential to warp or bend the cabinet. As long as you do so with a light touch, assembly is overall very straightforward and doable. Budget about 60-90 minutes.
Nice looking cabinet, can have better instruction and QCJordanPurchased the cabinet recently. Instructions could have been better, but ultimately not difficult to assemble. As a previous review mentions, soft screws. Not once, but twice upon adjusting the doors to sit properly the screws stripped. They have the consistency of crayons. I will now have to wait another week to get replacement parts shipped (this is the second time).
assembly insanely hardBrianI hope the 5c you saved making people bend metal tabs to assemble instead of screws when installing the drawers properly is worth the utter rage is has cause me in trying to put this thing together.
Do not buy this unless you want to raise your blood pressure. Perhaps you enjoy cursing? This is the cabinet for you!
Quality cabinet, easy to assembleRonI have two cabinets in this series. They are some of the easiest to assemble of any Ikea I have purchased. Very sturdy, stable, and perfect for my needs.
Frustrating Screws, Fantastic FinishTomBought two, knowing it would be a serious IKEA-style project—and it definitely lived up to that. Took my time and got through it.
My only material frustration was the screws: the Phillips slots are too shallow, so the bit never seats right and strips easily, even trying different bits. They also feel a bit soft. Fix that, and the whole build would be so much smoother. The easy fix is throw in a couple extra lousy screws of each type as backup.
In the end, though, I really like the finished pieces—worth the effort. Tom
Horrible instructionsAlanThe cabinet looks nice. Couldn’t put it together because the instructions are HORRIBLE. Impossible to figure out which screw to use. You have to keep flipping through the instructions to make sure you’re not mistakenly going to use the screw that is needed elsewhere. Also, the bottom partition where the drawers are to go doesn’t screw in at the back into the little slot. There is 1/8” of space between the bottom and no amount of pushin and pulling will get it there. The other three screw fit in perfectly. Go figure! Good luck trying to figure out how to install the slides for the drawers. No labeling as to which side in the drawing is the front of the cabinet and which on is the back. I guess the extra ink for the few extra words would have really set IKEA back. Haven’t made it past that point out of frustration. I’m tired of going cross eyed looking at the drawings. How about an instructional video since deciding to not use ANY words in the manual.
Stiudy and Easy to AssembleWilliamI'm very impressed with how easy this was to assemble. You do need some clear space because it is large. It's also very sturdy, seems high quality. Great for storage of various odd items.
Doors won't attach, and I can't use itEmilyI LOVED this item in the show room, but I have spent HOURS and HOURS in the past 4 days just trying to get the doors to "click" on. I'm actually no longer convinced they actually attach. I can't get the drawers in properly either. I have to remove them all the way out from the frame if I want to use them. Takes 10 min to get them back on on the way without being crooked. Honestly , this is tedious and enbormously frustrating. I'm considering just junking it at this point. I am usually excellent at putting these together.
CabinetLeannThis cabinet was well made and attractive….however the door latches were very tricky to install. One needs to line up and click the front of the latch before the back or it will get stuck in place. Ikea was very helpful in getting the replacement latch part that I needed though to complete the project.

DO NOT BUY if you are looking for a file cabinetLauraEven though when you search on the Ikea website for "file cabinet" this item comes up, and this item clearly resembles a file cabinet and has two file cabinet drawers, it is NOT a file cabinet. Further, it is not true that you can buy additional hardware to retrofit this to be a file cabinet. It takes a long time to assemble as well. It's been a very disappointing experience.

Our frequently-used shoes are stored on the shelves and our reusable grocery bags in the lower drawers to grab on our way out. We were both very surprised at how sturdy the build is. It's very solid and well-designed. Be sure to follow the instructions closely when putting it together. I had to redo a few steps myself.
no way to hanging foldersAnonymous reviewerThere are no bars to use hanging folders in the bottom 2 drawers, and there's no way to mode it to do it eaither. IKEA actually fixed this flaw in the smaller IDASEN filing cabinet models they sell, so you can hang a bar on the side so that it fits US size hanging folders but this doesn't seem possible for this larger cabinet. It's the only flaw but it's a MAJOR one imho. I would give it 3.5/5 stars if possible.
