very unsatisfied Anthonybought 11 pieces of furniture and three of these , went to put together and the holes did not line up to the top of the cabinet been waiting for a while so i did not want to hastle with driving to my nearest ikea store which is 1hr away . had to make the holes bigger and cut some pieces to get it to fit . when you pay for nice furniture you expect it not to waste time to try and mark it work. i have 10 more pieces of furniture to put together i hope it pieces together with out any modification !!!!!
These hinges are the bane of my existence. SarahAssembly was going together so smoothly I almost couldn’t believe it. I felt like a super woman, taking in the cabinet assembly by myself while my husband was out of town. I was on top of the world. Until, the hinges. The screw has to be perfectly aligned in the hole in the hinge for it to operate properly. Unfortunately, to be able to line it up with the holes in the wood you have to remove the hinges so you can see it. Then getting the screws back in are a nightmare. I even went to Lowe’s and got different screws so I could complete the project. My hands are literally bruised from the amount of pressure required to get those hinges installed.
The saga continues. As I begin assembly on my third cabinet, once again things begin easily. Until the board backing. The board backing is too long for the cabinet, none of the holes line up. It is visible at the bottom of the board that there was a slip while cutting and it is curved and preventing it to fit correctly. This is not an issue I had with the other two.
Love them!KimWe wanted to utilize our dining room wall to have more storage space, and 3 of the HAVSTA were perfect for making to the most out of our space. I was a little hesitant after some of the reviews, so we knew going into the assembly that installing the hinges and doors might be a bit tricky, and triple checked the hardware and instructions at these steps. I’m glad I took the chance and bought them because I love our dining space with them.
Conflicted. SarahBought this for a dry bar hack. Hired someone from task rabbit to help. He pt everything together and then we noticed the doors were not painted well. There are many spots where you can see the wood. It looks and feels as if they were just primed and never painted. The side of the cabinet is the same. Now, with everything installed I am left to figure out how to fix this 😩
Love the look and storage! KatieI have four of the base cabinet/upper hutch combos, two have solid doors and two with glass, plus the large cabinet with the two sliding doors.
These made all the difference in our dining area for storing extra glassware and pretty things in the glass cabinets, with out of sight storage below.
I use one of the combo sets with closed upper panels for games and puzzles.
The last combo is used for my home office supplies. I'm actually able to store my large HP Color Pro printer and small scanner in the bottom cabinet (we just drilled a small cable hole in the back panel for the power supply).
These were easy to put together and we did not have a lot of issues with getting the doors aligned. We find that having one person hold the doors steady while the other is making the hinge adjustments works well for us.
I love that these are tall, too. It gives a more elegant and permanent look for a very good price.
I've had three of these sets since May 2022. they are holding up great!
Terrible HingesLucyWe purchased two of these cabinets because they were made of wood and we wanted to be able to paint them. In the past we have added doors to our Pax frames without any trouble, so I was thinking everything would be okay. Unfortunately, the way these hinges are designed, you cannot install them the same way. They were very hard to install and the doors do not hang evenly. The holes must be drilled in different places on each side of the cabinet. It was very disappointing. I agree with other customers in that I wouldn't recommend these cabinets until Ikea fixes the hinge problems
Not impressedJosieBeware. I have had this cabinet in my entry way for about 2 years and it is starting to crack or almost separate in places. Every time I walk by it there’s a crack/split forming. Not sure what’s going on with it, but I’m super bummed about it.
We love our Havsta collection!LaurieWe put our system together over the holiday. Super happy with the quality and how easy it was to put together! Our room looks better than we imagined! We do highly recommend attaching the tops to the bottoms if you are stacking the units. Just makes for a more stable situation. We have a pair of rambunctious pups and a full speed ahead 4 yr old grandson so we took no chances.

Hinges are a nightmareAnnI bought 3 and could only put together 2 as 1 was damaged. Unfortunately I live 2 hours aways which means another trip to Ikea to return. For the 2 I assembled the hinges were a nightmare and the doors are not flush.
Excellent cabibetsLindaI bought these to store China in a closet and I’m very happy with them. Not only do they look good but they are very sturdy.
hinges flaw an otherwise excellent cabinetColleenBought this in store to provide extra kitchen storage in small apartment. Very easy to assemble, good quality wood, loved the finish. Then came the hinges (the doors are fine). Problems noted by others similar to mine - poor coordination between screws and holes, adjusting screw for lateral adjustment impossible to turn without dethreading. Even tried changing out hinges and doors, soaping and screwing in/unscrewing before reinstalling in cabinet. Alas my beautiful cabinet now such a disappointment. Do not want to buy new hinges just to replace adjustment screws, and fear a re-experience the same issues. Very disappointing especially given how beautiful the cabinet would be if the doors could be hung properly.
btw - I am very experienced at Ikea assemblies and this was so disappointing because of the mismatch between cabinet quality and hardware...
giving this 3 stars instead of 2 because I can still use it for storage...it's just ugly without the doors
Terrible hinges-doors hang askewHeatherI love the look of these cabinets but the hinges are defective, making it almost impossible to install the doors. The holes where the screws go through the hinges into the cabinet are not machined correctly (they are too small and there are rough edges that stick out too much) and don’t line up with the pre-drilled holes in the cabinet. And, because the hole where the screws go to the cabinet are so small with so much of an edge sticking up, you cannot adjust the height of the doors to make both doors even. Unfortunately, this appears to be an ongoing problem because I came across many similar reviews online, going back 3 years. Too bad I only came across those reviews while trying to figure out how to fix the hinges. I would not recommend until IKEA fixes the hinges.
Perfectly Refined.RobinWe bought a pair of black cabinets with the glass door tops. We added a custom crown and Uba Tuba granite between the top and bottom. And lights! It looks like a custom high end piece.
