Terrible to buildFionaWow. I followed the instructions to a T and this is by far not user friendly. You have to slide a panel in while the back panel is in the way. It literally isn’t possible without shaking the unit around and hoping you can force the last side panel on. I read the reviews and thought “there’s no way it could be that hard, it’s Ikea!”. I was wrong.
I have one from a few years ago and it is not like thisLaurenThis is not worth the money. The doors do not align properly and it came covered in marks. I will be returning this.
terrible assembly and cheap functionality Brighidshould have listened to the reviews but the views of this piece online/on tiktok were tempting - but i regret it. we purchased 3 of these cabinets to use as a media console under our TV, i also went above and beyond as they weren’t able to deliver to us and had a family member living near a far away store that had them in stock deliver them to me, so this stings even more after all that trouble. my boyfriend and i spent a miserable 4-5 hours assembling all three of these and each ended up
completely differently… some of the doors are crooked or protruding out, two of them if you even lightly touch it the cabinet doors pop
out, two of the wood panels had dents in them not of our doing… the list goes on. i should return them but they’re already assembled, and again they were purchased at a store in Indiana (I’m in Illinois), so i won’t go through the trouble… PLEASE DONT BUY THESE :(

Products Like This Shouldn't be SoldJunWe bought 5 sets of it, and none of them close entirely, cracks on top or bottom of the door for everything sets. So don't expect any of them close entirely because they don't.
4 out of 5 sets' back covers are too large, we had to trim them. Overall it's just bad products. It's funny we used to laugh at made in China but when they move productions out of China, products doesn't even work. And in what world they think it's okay to price "Don't Work" product for $80?

Read this before assembly!KaceyI purchased two of these cabinets, despite all of the negative reviews.
The first cabinet took multiple tries and a couple of different people to get it together. Even then, the corners of the thin backing piece frayed from the handling and I felt like the corners of the cabinet didn’t quite fit together.
I read tons of comments and watched videos before assembling the next one and this is what I learned:
1. Start by attaching the piece with the “1” printed on it to the side pieces first.
2. Align the thin backing piece so that the fold runs parallel to the side pieces.
3. As you attach the 4th piece, align the rubber stoppers on both sides. The backing piece will probably cave in slightly, but I found that it remained in the grooves enough that when the 4th piece was inserted, I could just flip the cabinet up and push the end back in.
I’m not even kidding, when I made these changes, i put the second cabinet together in 30 seconds with no issue. Hope this helps!
Don’t buyAmandaThis line of cabinets is not it! So hard to put together and scratches very easily. We spent a lot on these and already scratched nothing lines up correctly. Super cheaply made. Believe the other reviews.
A bit tricky to assemble but be patientJohnI agree with some of the other reviews that putting on that 4th piece of the frame was a real bear. Having a 2nd person would've made a big difference, as that person could've held the sides in place (so the flimsy back panel wouldn't fall out of the grooves) while attaching the 4th piece. But it did eventually work, and once that was done, everything else was a piece of cake. It looks great, and I much prefer the door "hinges" on this thing over the typical IKEA door hinges which are almost impossible to align.
In all, only that one part of the assembly was tricky, otherwise it was a straightforward process, and the end product is very attractive. I plan on getting another one.
DON'T BUYLydia
We been working off and on for 3 days trying to put these (2) cabinet together. It was quick and easy in the beginning until it was time to connect the fourth piece on after that everything when downhill plus dealing with the backboard issues.
I been buying from Ikea since 1990 and never been this frustrated for sure a simple thing to put together.
Question can I return these cabinets without the box. Awful design Ikea, just AWFUL very disappointed.

I spent almost an hour trying to fit the fourth side in but gave up because it kept getting stuck on the grooves. As the title says, trust the other reviews and pass on this one.
SO HARD TO BUILD - but beautifulJordanGetting the 4th side (bottom) on with the foldable back panel in is nearly impossible. I built 3 of these back to back, and each one gave me immense trouble. All 3 I cracked the back panel in a corner (all in the same corner)... BUT once I got it all together, they are stunning, and I will unfortunately be buying 2 more, but am NOT looking forward to putting them together. Only drew blood one time though... ha
Beyond frustrating MadisonThe cabinet is so difficult to put together. One of the predrilled holes was slightly off and now the entire cabinet doesn’t align and I had to basically shove the 4th frame piece together to make it somewhat work. The doors don’t align and do not move smoothly. Poorly designed product.
Difficult assemblyLuisaIt was so hard to assemble all the pieces together, and ended up with some corners still not aligned. Also the doors do not align at all. And when we tried to take them out and fix it, they fell down and dent in its corners. So one unit lost its doors completely.
They became a nightmare.
Glad I got this, but the assembly complaints are completely justified SeanNow that it’s up the wall I’m very glad I bought it. The assembly really is as bad as everyone says for two reasons. First, it simply is not designed to snap together the way it has to. When it’s time to put the fourth side on, the backing gets in the way and there’s no way to make it all come together without crunching a corner of the backing and using excessive force. The second thing is there’s some ‘play’ in some of the smaller components, and this could be the difference between the final product looking great or like a cheap piece of junk. The two main examples are the backing, and the magnetic contraptions that pop out to open the door. I don’t have enough characters to explain further, but I’d suggest being very realistic about your own ability and willingness to deal with this, especially if you’re buying multiple units that need to line up with each other perfectly. But if you’re on a budget and you have experience using a level and square…I recommend it!
Designed to fail, poorly designed. AzizaI’ve managed to put the thin back together with the last corner, people who put it together know what I am talking about. The amount of stress it took just was not worth it. When it was the time to put the doors in I’ve realized they clearly don’t fit into box, I managed to put them in however they don’t open. I am not sure what to do with this cabinet now. I am using ikea furniture for the last 10 years never had a problem like this with any other pieces of furniture.
Horrible to buildChristineIt was so hard to assemble the 4 sides with the back panel in because of the way the product is designed. When we finally got it to fit together properly, not only was the cabinet wobbly because the plastic pins that hold the sides together dug in and damaged the holes in the particle boards during installation, the back panel didn't fit correctly so there were visible gaps in the back when looking into the cabinet. Now we have to wait a week for another back panel that hopefully fits better and will then have to go through the struggle of putting the 4th side on again. We haven't even gotten to attach the doors yet and we're dreading it after reading these other reviews. We bought 2 of these and can't return them since we painted them before assembly. Overall, this has been our worst experience with a product from Ikea.
