The door has an integrated push-opener so you can open it with just a light push.

A movable shelf makes it easy to adapt the space to your storage needs.

Excellent addition!LauraThese cabinets are perfect for behind our couch for displaying family items. Lots more storage, too.5
Better than expected.Tashina Y.I was worried about buying this with all the bad reviews but I’m glad I didn’t listen to them. I had no issues! Just follow the steps and you are good to go! The instructions are just like all ikea instructions. No words just pictures. It’s a nice clean sleek look. I love how you push the doors in to open them.5
lousy instructionsMarkThe only instructions were vague pictures of mostly unlabeled pieces in no specific orientation. How to get the back into grooves on 4 sides when each side needs to slide down a slot after partial mounting remains a mystery. I'm still working on how the door hardware works, it seems flimsy and designed for a shelf less deep than the sides. I was planning on getting several more if assembly went well, that certainly won't be happening now.1
Door issuesKrizzia D.My partner and I bought 2 of these and had a really hard time aligning the doors. I should’ve read the reviews first, but it was the perfect size for our living room and I completely bypassed the research l, which I usually do. Anyway, one of the cabinets was so unaligned that we had to exchange the product, thinking it was a defective item. We just built our third one and we prayed before aligning the doors. Unfortunately, our prayer was not answered and the doors are still unaligned, a huge gap on the bottom right and top left doors, just like the other cabinets we built. It must be an issue with the instructions or parts because everyone seems to have the same issue! Sad to say that we have to keep ours because we installed the recommended, separately sold legs and spray painted it black. We like the style, hence the 2 stars, but just terrible quality!2
Good cabinet, spacious and itROSANDRAGood cabinet, spacious and it gives you the choice to hang it or gets legs with it , which is amazing.5
EKET problemsIngrid B.I bought several IKEA products. The EKET (cabinet with 2 doors), until now, was the worst. There is a lack of information in the manual, they need to improve and change some steps (IKEA saves ink in the manual by not providing writing steps as complementary to the images). A lot of users had problems with the alignment of the doors, including me, due to mistakes in the manual. I understand the poor quality of the product due to the price, but in this case, it is more about the manual than the quality itself. Be ready for hours of pure suffering. If you don`t believe me just google it. I would not recommend this product until they solve the problem.2
Nice storageGARETHThis item is doing the job I needed it to do. Only a little criticism- the new connection system on this item is a little tricky especially Will the backing in place. Needs two people to wrangle that but other than that I like the item very much.4
Worst PurchaseElizabeth P.Doors are uneven. I have other Ikea furniture. Ive put together furniture before. The whole process was aggravating. Both my partner and I lost it while trying to put on the last side. Plastic hinges do not line up and make any adjustment difficult. Looks very poor quality due to uneven gaps in doors. The doors just do not align. Not worth the money.1
Al long as you can get it together, it’s ok.FREDICKA N.I bought two of these along with a few of the smaller red cases. Overall it looks ok, but couldn’t get the doors to lineup to save my life. Which makes it look cheep. I’ve bought A LOT Ikea furniture in my life, and put almost all of it together on my own, bed included. But this cabinet was the absolute worst. Can’t tell you how many time I almost gave up on it. I had a problem getting the last side on, step 6. I encountered the same problem on both cabinets. Admittedly I probably should have read the other reviews before buying, but I’ve never had a problem with Ikea furniture before. After reading the reviews it seams like everyone has the same problem, and all Ikea can offer is platitudes and the option of returning the item. Just seams like they should put some effort into fixing the problem instead. Just saying.2
Laundry area refreshDAWNEBought 2 Eket cabinets to replace worn cabinets in laundry area. Love that they are bigger than what we had without being too big for space. Minor assembly issues (haven’t been able to adjust one door so it doesn’t rub).4
UnevenAlishaWe have a lot of ikea furniture in our home and this one is the worst. It's impossible to get the doors to line up correctly. We will be returning.1
Nice little cabinetTraciThis small cabinet is just what I needed to hide my modem in my study. The shelf inside is adjustable so I adjusted the height just above my modem which sets on the bottom of the cabinet. The shelf has plenty of room for papers, folders and other office supplies. The size of the cabinet is small enough to fit in a corner of the room but leaves plenty of space for the modem, charging station, cords and enough "breathing space" so the modem doesn't overheat. My husband put it together without any issues. The push & release hardware malfunctioned once-husband fixed it but don't know how long it will hold up. May have to upgrade it with better quality closure hardware, My only complaint is that Ikea didn't have the "feet" for this cabinet. I keep checking every week to see when they will get restocked.4
Hanging Wall CabinetsSalomonEasy to build and install. Just remember the brackets for wall mounting are not enclosed.5
PRECISELY engineeredJennie S.I was nervous because of the reviews I had read, however I am glad I made this purchase. This is a great value for an inexpensive storage solution. I use it in a closet. Work as a team, take your time & PRECISELY follow the assembly instructions and it’s perfect. Do not buy this if you’re not smart &/or are lazy. You need to take your time & precisely follow the pictured directions.5
Decent product...assembly needs workRENEE S.Had my eye on other storage systems but...stock issues like everywhere else. So I bought 4 of these for storage in our basement. I almost got scared off by reviews, but I will say that all 4 back panels for all 4 shelves fit differently, in spite of following the instructions. I peg it on inconsistent cuts. When those panels don't fit as the instructions specify, the notched out slides to assemble the rest of the cube don't want to line up. It took a lot of extra muscle to force things where they needed to go to complete assembly. Definitely requires two people. I have two hemnes bookcases and two billy bookcases, and they were much easier to assemble with their back panels.4
Not worth the headache!Lauren W.I read the reviews and thought it would be a good little bookshelf for my bedroom. And it might have been, if I had ever been able to get it together! From the beginning, this shelf was a massive headache. Two of the screw holes were too big for the tiny screws, so they wouldn't screw in. Then once I figured that out, one of the sides would not fit neatly into the top of the cabinet. All but not millimeter to go and as I tried to maneuver the three pieces that were already together to get a better grip, one of the others broke off in such a way that the entire shelf was rendered unusable. Needless to say I will be returning this to the store ASAP. Please do yourself a favor and DON'T buy this cabinet!1
Disappointed for the priceErika G.Functional for our small kitchen but really upset with the uneven doors - makes it look cheap. Wish I read the reviews prior to buying but it was impulse at the store.2
Tricky hingesLILYLove this piece, although we had some difficulty figuring out the hinges they are very tricky. If done wrong the doors will look off. The hinges will face opposite directions on both sides in order to make spacing around doors even. I see that many people have difficulty with this and end up taking it back.5
Happy with the product forChristyHappy with the product for the price.4
Great sleek storageAnneGreat cabinets. Bought 2, 1 turned out perfect with even doors. 2nd one, doors are uneven and I cannot take them off to try to figure out problem. My sister bought 4 and has the same problem with 1. Other than that, great cabinet and great look!4

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

New technologies, new hobbies, a new family member ... both small and large changes affect life and people's needs at home, especially when it comes to all the things that we need space for. Petra Kammari Enarsson is a product developer at IKEA and often visits the homes of customers to experience their everyday living and how good storage can make life at home a little easier. She remembers a family in Copenhagen which expanded every other weekend with the daughter from a previous relationship. ”She didn't have her own room, but the family had a solution where she had a loft bed in the living room and her private things were in a chest on the floor”. Petra thinks it's a good example of how more and more people are living in small spaces, and that a large part of everyday living takes places in the living room where we want things to be both practical and stylish.

Flexible furniture for new needs

Another obvious trend around the world is that many people move more often - just as Petra did when she was young. ”The problem is that a lot of storage furniture is so inflexible – upon moving or new needs arising, they can't be adapted. This means storage isn't optimal and it's difficult to keep track of all your things”. These insights inspired Petra and her colleagues to start looking at a more flexible and personal storage solution – something that can easily be updated so that people don't have to buy new furniture as soon as something in life changes. Petra then started to think about those fishing boxes she had when she was young and which were so easy to stack and move as needed. What if you could make a piece of furniture which consists of various smart modules that can be easily moved around, removed and added to?

Building with blocks

Petra and her team started by ordering cardboard boxes in various sizes. They took the boxes to different room environments where they moved them around like building blocks – stacking and combining them in various ways. The team also researched detailed facts about storage: on average, how many magazines do we have at home? What’s the ideal height for people to put down their mobile phones? ”Many of us put keys, telephones or bags in a specific place when we come home. We usually do it automatically, without thinking about it”, says Petra. The height that seems to suit most people is 31½", so a shelf at that height was a given in the mix of shelves, drawers and cabinets in different colors and styles that eventually became the EKET storage series. ”I'm so pleased that we chose to prioritize playfulness and freedom of choice with all the colors and sizes of EKET”, says Petra, who's looking forward to visiting more homes. ”I think that the customers will find lots of exciting combinations that we haven't even thought of!”.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light and resource-efficient, yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
