Fitted and freestanding wardrobes
Wardrobes are available in both fitted and freestanding designs. Each has their own set of benefits, with the primary difference being that fitted wardrobes are more permanently installed, becoming an integrated part of the bedroom. Standalone wardrobes are a piece of furniture that can be more easily moved and relocated, whether to a new spot in the room, a different room or a new home entirely. Always be sure to properly secure your wardrobe according to the provided instructions for safety.

One of our favorite things about armoires is their portability. You can readily move them within the same room when redecorating or move them to a new apartment across the country! Once you’ve organized your armoire to your liking, you needn’t worry about ever having to adapt to a changing closet layout again. It’s a bit like a reach-in closet you can easily take with you, helping make any space more functional and familiar.
Repurposing tip: If you already have an armoire you love and have moved into a home with more bedroom closet space, put it in a common area! Armoires make for wonderful ‘coat closets’ that blend in with other furniture in dining rooms, entryways and living rooms.
