Very sturdy and looks elegantJasonThis piece is very sturdy. It comes in 3 boxes weighing between 70-80 lbs and are pretty long, they barely fit in the back of my 4runner with the back seats down. You will need to wrestle with it from the Ikea store into your home.
It does say it takes 2 people, but I was able to assemble by myself. It took about 3.5 hours to assemble but overall was fairly straightforward. I would recommend a door stop to help prop it up when it’s on its side and you’re trying to get the back inserts to slot in.
Beautiful and high quality!CoralI had to write a review because I saw mostly bad ones. This was not hard to put together. I did it mostly by myself, I just needed my partner to help lift it. If you find putting ikea furniture together easy, you will do just fine. The pieces are pretty heavy I will say, but not impossible to lift. The product as a whole is amazing! It’s sturdy and the sliding door slides so smooth, it’s satisfying. As for the smell… it did have a mild smell but nothing extreme. It reminded me of a VERY mild Vicks vapor rub scent. If you are sensitive to smells this might not be for you.

Perfect but instructions were terrible FatimaI love this wardrobe, it looks perfect in my young adult son’s bedroom and feels sturdy once assembled. The only downside is that none of the parts were numbered or labeled, which made assembly take longer than expected. It took about 2.5 hours to put together.
If you’re planning to pick it up in person, be prepared: it comes in three boxes, each weighing around 70–80 pounds. You’ll definitely need a truck or a large SUV. I used a Tahoe, and it barely fit even with all the seats folded down.
Cabinet smells very bad- made whole floor smell during offgassingAnonymous reviewerThis cabinet is lovely. However, per another reviewer's experience- it smells absolutely horrible. The offgassing has made our whole downstairs smell. Not sure yet if it will ever go away. We have plenty of IKEA furniture and have never experienced anything like this. I am not sure what formaldehyde smells like and I know IKEA products shouldn't have it, but it seems like a toxic VOC smell.
Beautiful! Sturdy! But the SMELL!!!ErinWe love how beautiful this piece is, and it looks great in our house. This was hard to put together as others have mentioned, and definitely requires two people. We assembled it last week and sadly have yet to be able to put anything in the dresser. We have had to take the door back off, and keep all the drawers open to try and get the CRAZY STRONG CHEMICAL ODOR to dissipate. We have an air purifier with charcoal filter running next to it 24/7, and have been stashing towels in the drawers and replacing them every few days to help absorb the smell. I really love this item but it's so disappointing to wait weeks to use furniture you've purchased. It's also hard to store extra furniture when we had hoped to donate the items we're replacing. I'm really shocked that IKEA would make something like this.

Wish I could buy a second one EricaI love this piece so much that I’ve been waiting to be able to get a second one for my room. From the style to the amount of storage space it offers, it is perfect!
I didn’t want to take off stars from the product review, but I did want to note my frustration with not being able to order another one. I am based in New Orleans, LA, but because the nearest store (Houston, TX) no longer has this wardrobe in its inventory, I have had to wait months for the chance that it comes back in stock. I’m very confused at this IKEA policy because it seems they are more concerned with their convenience over making the sale. Other online shops will literally ship from ANYWHERE. I have been watching this wardrobe listed as “in-stock” at other places but still can’t get it. It’s 2026, if I’m paying for shipping please just ship it!

HOWEVER, go slow and take each step exactly as it is laid out in the directions, and the final product will be worth it. We love our handsome armoire. Beautiful and Heavy WardrobeLibertyIt comes in three large (heavy) boxes. I recommend having them shipped to you. The installation was kind of intimidating, and it took more than a few hours. HOWEVER, it is beautiful and elegant. I love my purchase and recommend it to everyone who is interested. I do want to note that there may be a discrepancy on Step 7. The image shown doesn't reflect the true installation. You will notice quickly, as this is the setup for the outside and middle walls. Make sure to set it up like the final product shows.
Handsome Kitchen StorageKatieI spent many hours scouring the Internet for an attractive pantry solution that was not crazy expensive. While this was not rated for kitchen use, we bought it and put it in ours. We are using the drawers to store sundry dry goods, including a snack drawer for our 6-year-old. The exposed cabinets allow for showing our KitchenAid mixer and some other pretty kitchen things. I do wish I could find extra shelves for the closet side. I have scoured the IKEA library but nothing quite makes the best use of the space. I really wish I could buy 2-3 more of the shelves that are at the bottom of the closet and add them in, as we want shelves and not hanging space for our use.
Perfect for what I needed!AshleyFirst off, yes, it took a few hours to put together…however, my husband and I laid everything out and promised we wouldn’t yell at each other before the project even started. With only a few curse words here and there, we finished and it seemed pretty easy in the end.
I love the style and needed it up off the floor due to old base heating in my room. It seems sturdy enough and definitely has a lot more room than I originally thought. For the price, it’s good. It is mdf with veneer which I knew when I bought it. I don’t have the money to spend on pricier wooden versions of the look I ultimately wanted.
Will this be a family heirloom? Probably not, but it’s perfect for what I needed and we’ll see how long it lasts!
Harder to build than a whole IKEA kitchenJessicaI love Ikea. I built my entire IKEA kitchen after watching the Up to Kode series on YouTube. I've put together a couch, desks, chairs, PAX. Nothing, not even the kitchen, was as hard as this. Why are the shelves connected to the pegs? Why are the connectors so difficult to insert into the shelves, and then so hard to get onto the pegs? I figured out the secret is to tighten the pegs so hard it feels like you'll break something. Even then a few didn't want to go on. Each step has been some sort of struggle. And why is everything so heavy? I'm on day 3 of working on it after work and not done. It's really beautiful, I love the matte black legs and brass accents, but why is it so hard to assemble 😭
Really nice armoire, especially for the price!Anonymous reviewerSeveral years ago, I purchased a similar mid century “chifferobe” from West Elm, and the price was over $1600!! (When I moved it got severely damaged and so, it was gone.) Jump forward a few years and I’m in need of something similar for my son’s room because he has hanging space. This is much nicer in person than I recalled. It must be a real wood veneer because it feels and looks like wood, and I love the four drawers. I will say it definitely is easier with two people to build. My husband and I have assembled lots of IKEA, so we didn’t find it especially tricky or too long. (About 2.5-3 hours.) I will say the hand strength it took to “click” the drawers in place was beyond me, and required more muscle or torque than I have. Otherwise, LOVE IT!
