Herring plate with potatoes & condiments
In Sweden, marinated herring is a must at Midsummer, Easter and Christmas. With three tasty, salty no-cook variants, this lunch is perfect fast food for holidays – and Mondays.


Serves: 4 | Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
Herring plate with potatoes
250 g SILL DILL marinated herring with dill
250 g SILL MATJES matjes herring fillets
250 g SILL SENAP marinated herring with mustard sauce
4 slices KNÄCKEBRÖD RÅG rye crispbread
8 small potatoes
4 tbsp sour cream
4 tbsp red onion, finely chopped
4 tbsp chives, finely chopped
4 sprigs of dill
Step by step:
- Boil the potatoes.
- Drain the dill and matjes herring.
- Arrange the potatoes, all three types of herring and a dollop of sour cream on each plate.
- Top with the red onion, chives and a sprig of dill, and serve with rye crispbread.
Tip! Add some freshly grated horseradish for an extra kick of flavour.
