Finding peace in a modern elegant bedroom

A bedroom is obviously a place for sleeping, but it can also be a place to wind down and relax, long before it’s time to say goodnight. One way to find that relaxing peace whenever you need it, is to decorate your bedroom in a way that automatically lowers the volume and speed of life, every time you come in the door.

Do you want to redecorate your entire room? Get new curtains.

We all know the impact just cleaning the windows can have on a room, so imagine what new curtains can do for it. Especially if those curtains come with different functions. Blinds will block out the light, which helps you sleep longer when you can and want to. Sheer curtains will soften the light in the room and add a sense of privacy even in broad daylight, with a busy world going on outside. Last but not least, the demi block-out curtain SANELA adds an elegant look as well as function; it absorbs both sound and light.

Plan your bed before making it

A good night’s sleep is not a coincidence, it’s the result of a carefully chosen bed and bedding that fit your preferences – all night long. There are many different qualities of mattresses, variations of the texture and breathability of the sheets, quilts of diverse materials, and temperatures to choose from, not to mention all the different types of pillows. They are what take your sleep to a whole new level! So make sure to plan all the layers of your bed to create a solution that both looks and feels like a dream.

Shhh… Don’t disturb the calming room

A busy mind needs a decluttered space to be able to relax. A room that actually tells the brain to calm down. Here the two FRYKSÅS cabinets hide all the stuff, to set a base for the peaceful expression. Well balanced colours add to the touch, as well as a comfortable chair, soft light and a few good books. The result is a room for relaxation, regardless of whether you’re awake or asleep.

The temperature of light

The light in a room makes as much difference as sunshine or rain does outdoors, but indoors you have the power to change “the weather”. The easiest way to make use of that power is to change to a TRÅDFRI smart LED light bulb. With the wireless remote control, you can adjust the light from colder to warmer, depending on your mood or the time of day. Getting a new lamp is like updating the sun!

A good night’s sleep with yours truly

The bed is probably your most private corner in the world, so make sure it is just the way you like it. That includes the space around the actual bed and also the time before and after sleeping. Do you have the perfect reading light? Perhaps a soft rug by the bed? How do you like the temperature in the room? Is there always a good book at hand? It’s your resting hours at stake, and your dedicated space for it. Make it perfect – for you.

Cleanness is more than a look – it’s a feeling

That feeling is easy to achieve with a STARKVIND air purifier. Despite the sleek look that blends into any room, it filters away 99,5% of airborne particles, dust and pollen. And yes, since it’s a product suitable for bedrooms, the volume is low enough to keep it on all night without disturbing your sleep.

How to walk through the whole “getting dressed procedure”

Almost any open space can be turned into a wardrobe, and with a storage system as stylish as AURDAL, there’s no reason to hide the storage behind closed doors. An open solution also makes it easy to get an overlook of all the clothes, which makes it equally easy to choose what to wear. Another bonus is that the openness gives you an extra reason to keep all your stuff in perfect order…

Travel in time?

It’s hard to change the world, but sometimes one perfect room is all you need. The very second you enter a room like this, you can take a deep breath, lower the volume, feel the soft carpet, sit down and just close your eyes for a minute. It’s almost like travelling back to a time when there were no mobile phones, less stress and more time to just be. Welcome back.
