Care
Wipe clean using a damp cloth and a mild cleaner.

worth the assembly effortEmilyI have an IKEA Brimnes with drawers I really like, even though building it was a lot of work. This one was not an exception but it came together so well. I am really impressed with the drawers assembly redesign, which is a lot easier than the old model. I think the picture of the locking mechanism may be upside down in the instructions. Nonetheless, once we figured it out, it was perfect. Thank you IKEA for your great drawer design work!

Squeaky!AllysonBeautiful bed. Storage is great. Unfortunately, a few months in and multiple adjustments and the squeaks just keep coming back. Unfortunate, because I tested for this at the store since I had an issue with my last IKEA bedframe. Is it an assembly error? Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it? Very irritating when trying to relax at night!

Assembly super hard, low quality woodVatsalTook us about five hours to assemble, the quality of the wood is not that great sliding in the drawers was very very very hard, and Wood was chipping off every time we try to fit a jars in. The instructions in the manual are also not very clear as you have to base everything on pictures and there are no words at all. It is very I expected better from IKEA. Some of their parts are plastic and if that plastic brakes, they don’t give you an extra part, which is kind of stupid. They should always give you some extra that’s bolts and parts.

Nicer than expectedJaneWe ordered this bed online and didn’t see it in store. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bed. It was much better than we expected. The posts are solid wood and the bed overall is very well engineered.
Nice options for mattress heightDanaIf you don't have help then it takes about 5 hours to assemble. We had to take off a star because of missing parts, and the laminated plywood drawers chipping apart at the back - when you slide the drawers onto their rails, the spiky bit at the back of the rail caused a chunk of the laminated plywood to chip out of two drawers, which happened to our neighbour who recommended the Tonstad too. So it seems to be a material/design problem rather than an us problem. Anyways the main reason we got this were the options for mattress height - the inside rails can be set low or high in the frame, then you can use the Luroy base itself or add a boxspring onto it, which helped us get the right height for a diaability situation. NOTE if you have a split boxspring you might want the Luroy base just to be safe because of the metal components inside.
absolutely not Queen size - zero starsDanaIKEA NO LONGER BOTHERS WITH QUALITY CONTROL - THIS "QUEEN" BED IS FULLY 4"/10cm TOO SHORT AND 4"/10cm TOO NARROW FOR A QUEEN MATTRESS. Also the hardware is crappy "tofu dreg" metal alloy that leaves little metal slivers everywhere, so please keep kids and pets away. There are obvious not-wood-colour plastic inserts to cover the hardware on the back of the headboard so hopefully you are keeping this shoved against a wall and you like beige plastic that doesn't sit flush with the wood. The finish on the drawers already scratched because one must put them face-down to build them - apparently we missed a metal shaving from the chinesium screws that scratched it - and the doors do not fit well anyways. The step for insert the drawers in the instructions seems to show older parts with plastic pieces that now face the opposite way. If you are using power tools because of arthritis then the three steps at the end must be done out of order to accommodate this disability. We live 200km away :(
Tonstad is solidJulieWe purchased a Tonstad queen size bed frame with storage drawers. took us part of 2 days to assemble due to a minor missing part and time allowance on our side. impressed with the construction and materials. Great looking bed frame. Drawers are a little light and disappointing. purchased the mattress frame but bed with mattress was too high so returned it for the slat base which was perfect. We would purchase for another room except there is no stock in this brown colour. will have to be patient. wish there were more standard bedroom pieces to accompany it. the 6 drawer is an odd piece with deeper bottom drawers.

Beautiful bed, lacking sizesSerhiiI am buying the TONSTAD bed in queen size to replace another IKEA bed only because I liked the TONSTAD design overall so much. I wish IKEA had this model in twin size, so that I would also replace kids beds for this new model. I hope someone from Ikea is reading my comment.
