SÖDERHAMN seating series allows you to sit deeply, low and softly with the loose back cushions for extra support.
Light, airy design with high legs and slim lines, yet still a great comfort thanks to the elastic weave in the bottom and high resilience foam in the seat cushions.
The sofa's sections can be used freestanding or combined in different ways to get a size and shape that suits you and your home.
If you need a larger sofa, you can add a section or two to your existing combination.
You can create your own perfect combination with the planning tool. Assemble, take apart and put together again until it’s just right.
The removable back cushions give your body support where needed. For example, place several behind your back for a more upright position or use them to make it comfortable when lying down and reading.
The depth of the sofa makes it perfect for relaxing or even taking a nice nap.
You can choose to use the sofa with or without armrests, depending on the expression you want to create.
The high legs make it easy to clean the floor under the sofa.
This cover is made of Gransel, a fabric with elements of linen and viscose that add a slight lustre and the threads in different sizes create a natural, vibrant expression.
A loose fit and a long valance sheet down to the floor give your SÖDERHAMN a relaxed and inviting look.
The cover is easy to keep clean since it can be machine washed and is easy to take off and put on again.

Saggy and uncomfortable after a few monthsJenniferWe loved this when we first got it. We swapped the legs for longer ones immediately, but we are pretty tall. I even napped on it a few times and it was cozy and comfy. Six months later it is sagging in the middle so much you can neither nap nor sit on it comfortably. I waited to write this review because I wanted to see how it lasted. It does not fare well after a short time. Now just over a year later it is uncomfortable garbage. Some of these reviews were written before it got its new lower price (translates to quality drop) the one in the Coquitlam show room is from before that so when we sat on it in store there were no signs of sag. I feel duped. I will not buy another sofa from here or likely any living room chairs either

The privilege of spending another $200 on:
-Bed slats (to keep the frame from collapsing) as per reddit
-MDF panels (to fake a flat sitting surface)
-Memory foam toppers (because the seat cushions are decorative only)
IKEA's warranty team insists this is "normal."
Pro tip: If your sofa requires structural reinforcement from the lumber yard, it's not furniture.
When your customers are literally rebuilding your products, maybe the problem isn't "user error."
don't buy it!!!Anonymous reviewerIt does not have ANY support as a regular proper couch, and my back, neck, and everywhere else start hurting after 5 minutes of sitting on it. The cushions are SUPER thin and I had to modify the couch repeatedly with different methods. With all the efforts I put into modifying, I could have built a couch myself already! And it's still super uncomfortable! now I have to buy a new one.
Horrible couch ValerieThe couch had lasted for only a year my husband and I are both small people that are under 200 pounds and within a year one of the legs broke off while we were one it. The cushions always seem to slide around but for the amount of money you spend you want it to at least last a year. They can’t even blame me for assembling it wrong because the base comes prebuilt.
Not What I ExpectedDianeFor the cost of this sofa, I expected much more. Dark grey does NOT look like the photos and is definitely not dark grey. It’s much more of a medium grey with green tones. Also, description says extra soft. It’s anything but soft. The ONLY positive is the seat depth. Otherwise, very misleading!

Super comfyChantalLove this sofa, it's big and soft with cushions that you can move around to create extra support where you need it. Only drawback is that the fabric is a little scratchy. Overall I'd buy it again!
I wish I could give them zero starsAnnaJust got my couch delivered. I ordered LIGHT BEIGE color, assuming I'll get a sofa in a nice beige color as indicated on the pictures. The couch I got is WHITE, the color is totally off. I do understand that the actual color might be slightly different, but it's completely off. I just had a chat with IKEA representative and sent him all the pictures, he was laughing saying it's exactly the same. I'm not blind. And I paid $59 delivery fee for nothing, now I have to go to IKEA and return this couch by myself.

Sofa can be configured to suit your room. Covers can also be changed/ washed.
It's deep sofa (40" approx) but actually takes up same space as regular sofa.
I think it needs more pillows. We put some extra pillows and it looks perfect.

The pillows are far from having regular pillow texture, the label says it made from recycled polyester - which totally feels like plastic. But the real issue is that the price is definitely not cheap comparing to quality. You can easily purchase better sofa's from other stores. Half way on my assembling, I realized that it was a huge mistake and I just returned it.
Horrible open space between cushionsCalebThe sofa looks cool but unfortunately it’s not well designed or constructed well enough. The cushions are super thin with flattened edges that look grubby and worn. The cushions slide around exposing 4” wide gaps between the seat cushions in places that you’ll naturally sit or have your hip/shoulder when lying down. You’ll end up feeling the plywood frame every time you use this sofa. Very dissapointed.
