Works great if you know how to put batteries in properly.SerenaI love this light. I have it plugged in under a cabinet in my kitchen, with batteries. It's fantastic if the power goes out as it's a nicer light for anything than a flashlight. It's also helped some plants and props grow on that part of the counter without much sunlight.
I think everyone whingeing about it not staying on don't use the correct batteries/don't make sure they're in properly.5
Waste of moneyShaylenBought less than a month ago. Seemed like a great lamp and I expected it to work - major flaw - I used the Ikea Ladda rechargeable batteries and it drained the batteries immediately and wouldn’t stay on. I had to turn the on/off switch and then turn the lamp on again and it would only stay on for a few seconds before shutting off. I tried charging the Ikea batteries and then tried using energizer batteries - same problem except with the energizer batteries it stayed on longer before draining the batteries. Do not recommend this lamp. Also, the sticky things should not be permanent because now I have to scrape that off. Do NOT waste your money. They shouldn’t even be selling them at this point. They know these are flawed.1
Excellent ambient lightsShelleyJust perfect5
Doesn't work with batteriesIsabellaMy light turns on for 1-2 seconds1
Doesn’t work at all with batterySeanWorks fine with wired plug but not at all using battery. Turns on do about 4 seconds then turns off. Only way to turn on again is to cycle the on/off switch, but again it only comes on for a few short seconds. I returned the first one and replaced thinking it was a one off, but exactly the same thing occurred. Too bad, the product was the right size and colour temp for my use, so def disappointed that a) it doesn’t work as advertised and b) there is no alternative product without huge masses of cabling that you need for it.1
Not worth the hassleJessBatteries do not last and doesn’t stay on without being plugged in. The touch sensor is very finicky as well. Sticky parts should be reusable but they chose not to make them as such. Very disappointing1
No battery lifeCarmelleJust bought this and tried using for closet lighting. It works well immediately after being charged, but dies very quickly and needs to be recharged again. Not functional.1
Great product, except for the stickers! Unacceptable!RiaI don’t understand why IKEA skimps on the quality of the stickers, just to save a couple of pennies. Otherwise five stars. Packaging not designed with the customer in mind.4
ROLFSTORP JuliaGreat value for money. Has charging wire and uses rechargeable batteries. We enjoy the variable lighting option. 5
Great Under-Cabinet Light!SrishtiHere’s a refined version based on your input:

**Perfect Under-Cabinet Lights!**
Easy to install with adhesive backing, and the motion sensor works well too. The three levels of brightness are great to have, providing flexibility for different needs. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enhance their space!5
Works well only when plugged inEvaWith fully charged batteries in the button does not work on all the time. On/off with the button on the front works randomly (I thought it was motion activated because it would only work at times) and the dimmer not at all. There is a connection problem somewhere I think because plugged in it's perfect!! It would be an amazing light and I would buy many more if it actually worked as intended with batteries.2
Will not stay onBrettIt’s incredibly susceptible to any power fluctuation. Turning it on and immediately reducing the brightness can help stability but not by much. Putting a wedge in the battery housing to ensure they don’t jostle at all also helps stability, especially combined with the brightness reduction.
There is clearly a design fault in them and shouldn’t be sold as is right now. I love the idea and want them for a spray box but frankly they aren’t worth a dime.
Tested multiple with the recommended IKEA rechargeable batteries. Same result1
Unreliable on batteryTimothyWhen it works this is great. But on battery it is highly unreliable (worked <50% of time). On fresh batteries it behaves a little better, but within a few cycles and <1hr of on time it will flak out... won't turn on, randomly turns off, unable to dim or turn off with touch switch. Continually having to unmount and reset.1
Disappointing overall Anonymous reviewerInstallation couldn't be easier and the light is bright but that's all it has going for it.
Using the reccomended batteries, I get maybe 1/4 of the advertised before it dies and I need to plug it in so this is effectively not a wireless light. I bought this light so I wouldn't need to keep something plugged in.
The button is finicky and difficult to find: even looking at it and pressing right in the circle, it only responds about 50% of the time. It seems that if my finger is cold or damp at all yhen the button just doesn'trecognize it. The button is particularly annoying when turning the light off since it needs to be held for a few seconds before becoming evident that the button isn't working.
Getting rid of the batteries and advertising this as a wired product and changing the useless button to a physical clicky switch with some kind of haptic feedback would make this much more usable.3
They just don’t work Anonymous reviewerIt’s not user error, it’s not the batteries, it’s just a bad product. IKEA needs to recall and refund anyone who’s purchased these. I shouldn’t have to waste my time returning a product you sold to me knowing it doesn’t work1
normal AA battery doesn't workMengmeng1.5 v AA battery doesn't work, don't buy it if you don't want to use cable1
Fine light for it's priceJonMy only issue is that when plugged in through USB, and through a USB hub (I need multiple lights plugged in), it turns off when on high brightness. Seems like it draws too much power via USB, thus it needs a dedicated line per cable/light. So keep this in mind if you need to light multiple sections (i.e. display cases).4
Bad QualityPouriaComes without battery and not mentioned needs to buy a rechargeable battery, used a normal battery and was not working properly also the on and Off button is working sometimes and not working sometimes 1
FinickyAnonymousHave the light mounted in a closet facing down. Have found that the on/off switch is finicky. Have to press the switch just right to get the light to turn on and off. Can be frustrating.3
