missing upholstery on upholstered bedEmilyThe bed is actually lovely and just as advertised, but it was purchased with the cover included. Unfortunately Ikea removed the cover from my order as it was not available without reaching out to me, so now I have a bed with no cover. If I had been contacted I would have switched my order but now because I live so far away from an Ikea store, I'm stuck with an un-upholstered bed due to the cost of returning and then ordering something else as well as the timeframe that my daughter would have no bed. I'm quite disheartened.3
Do not buy unless you settle for a cheap ikea mattress to use on itBettyIf I had known that this bed will NOT accommodate a standard twin size mattress, i would not have purchased it. The new standard twin size mattress that I purchased from a local mattress store will not fit into the frame which is too narrow, so the mattress cannot actually sit on the support slats. I can get one side into the frame and onto the slats, but the other side can’t and sits on the top edge of the frame. Literally an extra 1/2” and I could probably jam it in. No where in ikea’s product description, does it mention that you cannot use a non-ikea mattress with this bed. Unfortunately we did not know that the mattress would not fit as it was not delivered until the day after we assembled it and threw away all the packaging. so now we are stuck with a bed that cannot be used with our very expensive nonreturnable mattress. Also, the cover smelled, and is so tight that it tore on one corner when we were trying to stretch it put it on the footboard. Wish we could return it!1
Does the job and looks niceShirleyI didn't want to spend a ton of money on a kid's bed so this one does the job, and I really like the look of it. Up close the material does look and feel more plastic-y than I like, and smells that way out of the package. Functionally it's good though. It's the perfect height to store some underbed storage boxes for extra blankets and clothes and for a kid to feel cozy.4
